Hi ;-)
I suffer with Ulcerative Colitis and as a last hope i have tried homeopathy. Ive been taking the tablets for 5 days and my diarreah has gotten worse. Is it normal that things get worse before getting better? I am seeing my homeopath on tuesday but i dont have much faith....please advise ! |

I dont have much faith in either, the doctor tells me he can help me but ive heard this from so many sources before ive almost given up hope.
Since starting the homeopathy my diareah has got much worse. My doc says this is a normal reaction and it shoes the body isstarting the healing process so i wanted to confirm that with anybody who knows homeopathy...thanks ;-) | | |

hi
i saw your post and i have tried homeopathy with some success for my uc. keep faithful, for me its been a slow process but i see improvement as months go by.
also ive heard that ayurvedic treatment compliments homeopathy and i have had a lot of success with that as well. knowing your ayurvedic body type is a good way to start on that path and the best book ive read thus far is prakriti - your ayurvedic constituion. jus thought id help.

Hi Nitai,
Sometimes things can get worse with homeopathy for a short time, its called an agravation. When that happens you should stop taking the remedy and then see if things start to improve.

I would like to take a remedy for Ulcerative colitis ..I am in remission now..a remedy that would help heal me hopefully where I dont have another flare up. Some times when I eat I get a soreness or gas diareha so the problem has not gone away its just waiting to flare up again..I am not having bleeding at this time. wondering do I take a single remedy. and for how long do you take it, and how often please. thankyou | | |

Hi, all of you with Ulcerative colitis..depending on the severity of your case and mine was pretty severe I had flare ups at least 2times a yr. Along with the other symptoms a Homeopath, recommended I try, Sulphur 30c one dose for 5days only, then stop the sulphur altogether, and along with the sulphur a dose of Mag Carb 30c three times a day for 2 weeks. You can take sulphur and mag carb together. If you get consitpated or have any other symptons stop for a day or two and start again. I havent had any more flare ups. Since taking these homeopathic medicines 8 months ago..if I start having diareah again when eating fruits and veggies he told me to resume taking these remedies as stated above. Will keep you posted if I continue in good health. | | |

I first noticed UC in Jun 2005 which I had to control using Prednisone as per doctor recommendation. My next flareup happened in May 2006, I tried different homeo remedies to no avail and had to go back to Prednisone as even Asacol could not control it. In my recent flareup in Aug 2006, I started trying Cochlerea 200C every day morning (dissolved in a bottle of water), Merc-Corr 30C in the afternoon (dissolved in a 500ml bottle of water, take 1 sip every 15mts for 3 times, bottle lasts for 3-4 days). It didnot help much but when I also added BC 24 cell salt combination (4 tablets 4 times a day), I started noticing difference. This is my 9th day with all 3 of them together and the bloodiness in the stools has disappeared, stools have reduced from a maximum of 12/day to 3-4/day as of now. Also, during the first few days, I just ate Curd/Yogurt rice for all my meals and am now adding more spicier items to my meals.
BC 24 seems to be helping me but BC 9 looks to be a better cell salt combination. I have not tried it since this is already working.
Since I am not a doctor, I am not sure which of the 3 - Cochlerea/Merc-C/BC 24 is really helping me. I might slowly find out by elimination as I keep getting better.

Hi,
I was diagnosed with severe UC in Feb. 05, I have taken steriod cycles back to back tring to get my flare ups to stop. I would have diarreah 10+ times a day and it would be nothing but blood clots. My fiance has been very worried the about the side effects of the Asacol and steriods, so he went online and did some research and found a product called
PRIMAL DEFENCE by a company Garden of Life. I was taking 12 Asacols a day at that time. He bought the
PRIMAL DEFENCE, and I started taking it right away, in addition to the Asacol. Within 5 DAYS!!! I stopped having diarreah, stopped bleeding, and starting having normal bowel movements once a day. After about 3 weeks I stopped taking the Asacol all together and have not been on it since! I would have to say that if he had not found the PRIMAL DEFENCE I would most likely being having surgery for the UC. Hi,
I am a 45 year old male with U.C. diagnosed in 2005. I am taking 3 tablets of asacol 3 times a day and the steroids for more than 4 years which relieved me of my symptoms temporarily with other side effects like swollen face, increased hunger etc. The bleeding, mucous stools would start again as soon as I stopped the steroids.
My symptoms are as below:
1.Irresistable pressure for passing stool early in the morning as soon as I get up with expulsion of mucous mixed with blood which smells of raw fish/blood.
2. dark red blood mixed with very little stool and some times in drops as well.
3. Unsatisfied feeling most of the times as if could have passed more stool.
4. It feels as if stool is lodged inside the rectum most of the time and I should strain to pass it out.
5. It feels as if there is a blockage at the anus while passing gas.
6. gnawing pain sometimes above the right hip with pain shooting to the thigh, but never below the knee.
7. Very bloated feeling as soon as I have eaten and feeling that the stomach is about to burst.

day 1
Please take three doses of Sulphur 200c at a gap of 4 hours.
One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.
day 2 to day 10
Please take 2 pellets each of the following tissue salts thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours.
ferrum phos 6x
mag phos 6x
kali mur 6x
Please report after 10 days.
Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.
Please read my posts on the breathing exercises called as Anulom Vilom Pranayam and Kapalbhati Pranayam by following the links given below. Please practise these pranayams regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. You may practise at any other convinient time. The only restriction that you have to follow is not to do these exercises within 4 hours after meals. You can have meals not within 15 minutes after finishing these exercises.

ok here it goes, i've had UC for 30 years now, alergic to all drugs pertaining to UC, except steriod. tried accupucture, chinese meds, herbal, aloe, etc. it starts good then i get the same result, on ayuveda meds now, working good but have issue with passing gas, BM starts with mucus then movement, is there anything in the Homopathic world that i can try, to put this to bed once and for all
