Irritable Bowel Syndrome remedies please

My case history
Two years ago I suffered from severe gastroenteritis and after taking antibiotics I recovered but since then I am suffering from indigestion, acute gas formation and a highly sensitive Colon and Large intestine. I consulted many Allopathic doctors and they gave me usual dose of antibiotics but without any improvement in symptoms. After two years and few weeks back I consulted a gastroenterologist who diagnosed me with Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and prescribed some medicines which gave me some relief but I am not satisfied with the results. Gastroenterologist is saying that there is nothing wrong with my stomach its just not functioning properly. Also before IBS I used to suffer from gastroenteritis at least twice each year. Also I have a history of loose-motions and diarrhea.

My Symptoms

1) After each meal I suffer from indigestion and acute gas formation. I feel like my whole stomach is filled with gas and its blowing up like a balloon. I feel bloated and uncomfortable and feel difficulty in seating.
2)Usually after meals there is a slight burning sensation in my stomach but I don't suffer from acid reflux.
3) After each meal there is a strong urge to go for number 2 but even after going to bathroom I feel like I am not completely empty and suffer from constipated feeling. There is a feeling that eating food somehow activates my large intestine to pass stool.
4)My stool alternates between normal stool and loose watery stool. (Most of the time its loose, watery and full of mucus)
5)Mucus is present in my stool.
6)After evacuating my bowel (i.e after number 2) I feel like my colon and rectum have become overtly sensitive and I feel irritation and uncomfortable in my anal region. The feeling subsides in 2-3 hour.
7) There is also itching sensation near anal region.
8) Every morning after getting up from bed I have to immediately rush to bathroom for number 2.
9)After breakfast there is slight uncomfortable pain in lower abdomen. My bowel gets highly sensitive in morning.
10)Level of discomfort changes with types of food. If I eat more spicy food more gas forms.
11) Most of the times my symptoms are NOT accompanied with pains but sometimes there are strong abdominal cramps 3-4 hours after I drink alcohol or caffeinated drinks.
12)Few hours after meals there is gurgling noise in my lower abdomen and I can feel like something is moving inside my bowel.
13 I take lot of stress.I used take lot of stress for studies. Even now I lead a pretty stressful life.
14) Also after passing stool I feel week and nauseated.
15)There is no blood in my stool.
16) My stool is of normal color.
17)Taking lots of fiber in diet sometimes improve my symptoms.
18) I didn't loose weight infact I gained weight in last 1 and half year.
19)I exercise regularly.
20)My bowel disorder is making me uncomfortable in my social circle.
21) Also every morning I wake up automatically very early without completing 8 hours of sleep since these problems started

My Age: 23,
Height: 180 Cm/ 5'11'
Weight: 78 Kg

What are possible remedies? Thank you in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is a one-sided case - only one aspect of your health is being described. One-sided cases may or may not give you enough information to prescribe the simillimum. Other aspects of your case (mentals, emotionals, other organ systems, other general areas like sexual energy, environmental sensitivities ect) help to confirm remedy choices.

From those symptoms, the remedies I might explore would by Sulphur primarily, with Aloe, Nux-vomica and Silicea as differentials. These 4 remedies are all very different and the state of the patient would decide most likely. Smaller remedies that are also indicated are Gratiola, Tabacum and Muriatic acid.

The history and mental/emotional state might be helpful in distinguishing between these remedies.

Thnx for replying. As you said mentals, emotionals and other organ systems are generally required to confirm remedy choices I am listing them below.

Mentals- I don't know what exactly it consists of but mentally I am sound though I talk with little stammer that sometimes leads to feeling of awkwardness and anxiety. I am good in mathematics and science and always achieve top rank in my class. As I said I take lot of care and. stress for my studies and I like to achieve.

Emotionals- Well I have a loving family who took good care of me. I have a nice big social circle of friends and in fact I like going out and talking to people but recently my IBS slightly hampered that. Also there has been never a very stressful incident in my life and no emotional torture. Though as I said earlier I strive hard to achieve and always compare myself with other people.

Other organ systems- As such I don't have nayother major ailments. Though I catch cold easily and I had skin disease with dandruff but after homeopathy treatment dandruff is cured but skin problem also improved a great deal.

Sexually I am a virgin though I masturbate a lot usually daily once and sometimes twice a day.

Regarding enironvent I never encountered anything to which I felt allergic. I don't know what more to say regarding this.

I would be grateful if you can analyze this information. Thank you in advance.

Ok do not give me positives, those kinds of things will rarely lead to a remedy. We need negative traits.

What issues and problems have you had in your life?

Where do you struggle the most?

What fears and anxieties do you have?

Where do you find it impossible to change your behaviour?

What do you hide from others or feel shame for?

What makes you angry?

What kinds of thoughts do you find it hard to be rid of?

What were you like as a child, looking at many of the above questions?

Talk more about achievement

Talk more about being awkward and anxious.

What situations do you catch cold in? What are the symptoms?

What skin diseases? Describe them exactly.

What homoeopathic treatment did you have in the past? When was this in relation to the intestinal symptoms?

What are you sensitive to in the environment (light, sound, smell, weather, temperature, wind, crowds, smoke, food etc etc). The environment is everything outside of you.

What issues and problems have you had in your life?

If you mean serious issues and problems I would say my skin disease and dandruff before my IBS and occasional bouts of gastroenteritis (usually twice each year) which used to go away with usual antibiotic dose. Apart from that I can't think of any other problem in my my life before IBS.

Where do you struggle the most?

Sometimes I struggle to keep my cool and patient. Its like blowing my head off in anger. Usually when I get angry I stammer a lot and find it difficult to enunciate. Also people say I talk fast. I have tried in past to improve my anger and anxiety management and talk slow but every time I failed.

What Fears and anxieties do you have?

I mostly fear what new people will think about me whether they are better than me or I am better than them. I compare myself with them. I am sometimes shy to go before new people but once I know anybody I am completely open with them and trust them.

Where do you find it impossible to change your behaviour?

As I said I get easily irritated and anxious very soon and regarding small matters. I tried to change this but without any success.

What do you hide from others of feel shame for?

My skin disease spots on left leg.

What makes you angry?
When things don't turn out the way I want. When people don't listen to me. When people ignore me or try to prove themselves to be better than me.

What kinds of thoughts do you find it hard to get rid of?

What will happen to me, Whats in my destiny, How will I tackle a problem, Will my life be comfortable? I am also concerned regarding my family members like what will they achieve in their life, weather they are happy or not things like that.

What were you like as a child, looking at many of the above questions?

As a child I had a good life. I had many friends and I liked to play a lot. I had caring parents and I loved to eat. My father is in a transferable job and I liked visiting new places but I missed my old friends. In my childhood days also I was afraid and shy to meet new people but once I got to know them everything used to be okay. When I was a child I suffered once from typhoid and thrice from malaria and occasionally cold and throat infection.

Talk more about achievement.
I believe myself to be an achiever. I have own many scholarships, I used to constantly top in my classes. I even got full funding to continue my studies in PhD and at the same time I have more than 2 employment offers with above average salary but now I am worried that how will I perform in my job or in my PhD whether my employers will find me good enough or not. Also I am worried that my IBS problem will ruin it all for me.

Talk more about being awkward and anxious?

Whenever I have o face a new situation, new people or new problem I usually start worry about end result and how everything will work out. I have a habit of planning ahead for every thing and I have to constantly go over the plan constantly in my mind as I am afraid to make mistakes. Also in something deviates from my plan I leave it there itself and again try to plan everything from the beginning.

What situations do you catch cold in? What are the symptoms?

Usually when there is cold temperature of sudden temperature or weather change but not frequently hardly twice a year and it is accompanied with throat pain with thick yellow phlegm. Sometimes it is accompanied with slight fever but it usually subsides in 3-4 days.

What skin diseases? Describe them exactly.

When I was 12 years old small pimples like things grew all over my left leg from my ankle to inner side of thighs. After alopathic treatment all pimples were gone except for three black spots on both sides of my left leg slightly above the ankle and one spot on the front of shin of left leg. They used to itch a lot when after wearing socks and removing them, also white flakes were formed on them. Non sticky and non smelly liquid used to come out of them and after taking homeopathy medicine the spot on the shin disappeared but the other two spots remained there but completely dry and I have to cut deep into them with nails to get that non sticky and non smelly fluid. The spots themselves have a fleshy white core and a black circumferential ring. Also there were dandruff on my scalp with large white flakes and white spots on my skin on the back of my shoulder which used to itch a lot in sun.

What homeopathic treatment did you have in the past? When was this in relation to the intestinal symptoms?

Homeopathic treatment gave relief from my skin disease mostly from dandruff and white spots on my shoulder and slight improvements in case of spots on my legs. I took homeopathic medicine for skin before my IBS and also in last two years while suffering from IBS (but didn't take medicine for IBS)

What are you sensitive to in the environment?
I usually get irritated in crowd, Sound distracts me and makes me angry and anxious. I cannot tolerate smoke. I like food and eat almost everything. I sweat a lot in humid and hot climate. My body gives a damp smell when sweaty. Everyday after taking bath when my body is drying I feel itching sensation all over the body only for few minutes.

that is all. Thank you again
