The ABC Homeopathy Forum

A Fountain of Tears

i am just learning about homeopathy. i have studied the four humours and several forms of energy therapy. my results suggested belladona. i wonder what others think?

this condition has been going on for over three years, but it's been thirteen years since the loss. if anyone cares to give their opinion, i would be interested. i wonder if some of these symptoms are simply legitimate responses to loss.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.

what are all those numbers?

Oh! Sorry, I thought you all talked in numbers!

I spent about half an hour crunching all my symptoms into the software program, and it spit out those numbers at the end and suggested I paste them into a message for the forum. So I did. . . me, I don't talk numbers, so I guess no one's the wiser for those efforts!

I am a fifty-five year old woman who has lost a loved one and I guess I'd say I'm somewhat lovesick. I don't know if that is actually something homeopathy addresses, unless there is distinctly an illness in addition to normal greiving.

I ran a decumbiture chart on this question; I just looked it up--it was very interesting! The heartbreak was clear as a bell, but sickness isn't showing on the chart at all. In fact, it looks like things should be getting better. Nice to know!

Symptoms: weeping, insomnia, homesickness (despite being at home!), ecstacy. I think 'seeing dead people' got me the belladonna reccomendation, but it's not like ghosts and not like really seeing. I think it might just be normal for me, if normal could describe someone who talks to dead people. . .

So what did you actually want from us?

She needs help.

It is not clear at all what this person wants.

First we got some odd comments about us talking in numbers, decumbiture charts.

Did you want us to take your case?

I need help, thank you! Good summary.

How would you determine whether I am experiencing a process of grief that needs to be respected and allowed to run its course, or something that needs treatment?

Not all negative emotions are a bad thing; I'm an artist and I believe some pain is constructive--and love can mean loss, and loss can be painful, and all that is very much to be respected.

I would use astrology (decumbiture) to find out whether treatment would be needed, but I wonder what a homeopath would do.

Any ideas?

Grief and loss is not a disease, and does not on its own need treatment.

However very often, grief and loss can manifest as suffering for the person, often physical, and so it needs to be healed.

As human beings, we are built to experience negative and positive emotions, all have their purpose. But when we get stuck in them, then it is a problem, then it is disease, and then homoeopathy can save us.

Suffering is the key. When there is suffering, there is a need to help the person. That is when we step in.

That patient is our only guide - they take us to the places where they are in pain, they tell us where they are trapped or hurting, and we apply our medicine where they direct us.

GUIDELINES FOR GIVING HOMOEOPATHIC CASE INFORMATION

It is important to describe all your problems in as much detail as you are able. One word answers and short sentences are not particularly helpful. Discuss each problem one at a time, providing (as a minimum level of detail) the following information.

1. What exactly happens?
2. Describe all sensations and pains. Each pain or sensation should be described in such a way that allows us to imagine having the same pain.
3. What causes the problem to get worse after it has started occurring?
4. What creates some relief for the problem?
5. What triggers the problem into occuring?
6. What time of the day or night does the problem occur?
7. When did the problem start? What was happening in your life at that time? Did some specific event or treatment take place just before the problem started?

Move from one problem to the next, doing the same thing. IT IS VITAL THAT YOU GIVE A COMPLETE PICTURE OF YOUR HEALTH BY PROVIDING ALL PROBLEMS YOU HAVE, EVEN IF NOT CONNECTED TO THE MAIN ONE, AND EVEN IF YOU CONSIDER IT OF LESS IMPORTANCE.

You should address each problem separately using the above 7 questions as a guide. Do not put all your complaints into each of the 7 questions. Discuss one problem at a time.

As well as this, please describe any traumatic incidents that have taken place in your life. Discuss anything that has had a lasting impact on you mentally, emotionally or physically.

Discuss the way that you manage or deal with your problems, or any problems that occur in your life.

Discuss any patterns you have noticed in your behavior especially concerning your disease.

Discuss any part of your life where you feel stuck or unable to change and grow, especially where this occurred around the beginning of your disease, or as the disease evolved.

Describe your childhood and the kind of environment you grew up in, with reference to your relationships with your family, your school experiences, and any serious childhood diseases.

If your earlier discussions have not mentioned these already, please describe:

1. The specific foods that you crave (not just like) or hate
2. The specific drinks that you crave or hate
3. What your sleep is like
4. How the weather and the temperature affects you
5. What kinds of things in the environment you are particularly sensitive to
6. What your general level of energy is like
7. What your level of sexual energy or desire is like
8. Describe your menstrual cycle

9. Also give these details

a) Body type and build
b) Skin colour and texture
c) Areas of the body tends to perspire on
d) Odour of sweat, body, stool, flatus, urine
e) Colour of stool, urine, sweat

10. Give any reactions to vaccines or medical drugs.
