The ABC Homeopathy Forum

For David: What is this person's simillimum? Page 2 of 3

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is that the only reaction to the dose of Cor-r - his nose is more often blocked? Has the mucous in the chest changed at all? The cough? His mood changes? His fears?

Normally at this stage, assuming there were no other changes, I would get you to repeat the remedy while adjusting the dosage, to ensure the remedy is definitely not going to help.

You can take Sameer on as the practitioner if you like. I am not interested in any struggle over who is making prescriptions. It will only create confusion in the long run.

My approach is always to persist with a remedy until it is clear it isn't working, so that the right remedy is not missed. At the same time I have no desire to keep him on the wrong remedy just because I chose it.

David, I can say for sure I see no changes in mucous or mood or any other discernible aspect in him post cor-r. Like I mentioned before, the only difference I can attribute to cor-r is the nature of mucous he coughed out during his coughing bout I had written about earlier.

I also incorrectly indicated that the nose block issue is recent. It actually occurs every once in a while. Its not a new phenomenon. Specifically what triggers it - I don't know.

Apologies David, didn't mean to cause any confusion.

Just keep Kali-c in mind though, in case Cor-r does not work.

Hi David,
I haven't heard from you yet on his blocked nose issue. I'd like to try kali-c for this issue, if you think it won't interfere. If you do, I'll hold back.

Gentle reminder :)

You are welcome to try the Kali-carb. Let me know what happens.

I am on travel for 2 weeks, so I asked my wife to give him Kali-c last night. She gave it just before he went to sleep. We only had 200c at home, so she gave that. It was administered in liquid form (a drop in some water and shaken -I've observed in the past that this form works much better for him than sugar pills)

Last night, he did not wake up at all with a blocked nose. There was some sniffing, but he slept through.

I can only report this observation with respect to his blocked nose as his coughing bout was gone earlier. I'll have to wait till the next session starts.

Hi, an update. My son had another wheezing with cough episode last week. I was not with him - he was on travel with my wife. But the characteristics were the same as I wrote before. The only thing that was specific in this case, is this episode started immediately after really heavy rains (this might just be anecdotal, but I thought I'd bring it up nonetheless).

On another note, I am also concerned that he is very thin - he seems perfectly energetic, eats ok as well (very picky though) but just does not put on weight.

So the Kali-carb hasn't worked I take it over the long term?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
David, that is correct. There were two different symptoms I had initially listed a) cough/wheeze b) waking up at night with a nose full of mucous/blocked. B) does not seem to be occurring but the big one, a) has recurred.

Ok let me go through it again. Are there any new symptoms? Have the qualities of any of the old symptoms changed? Has he changed in any other way?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
David, no, no new symptoms. Its pretty much the same old. No new characteristics either.

aske123 last decade
Ok let me reassess.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Does he still have that cough you described earlier in the thread?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
No, not as of now. However as I mentioned I am sure it will come back when he catches a cold again.

aske123 last decade
That cough is his normal cough then? It is a reoccuring symptom that is always the same when it comes?

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
David, yes. Its pretty much the same cough when it happens (not always overlapping) but always 'wet', hard and from his gut.

aske123 last decade
David, checking back in. Were you able to re-assess?

aske123 last decade
Just keep bumping your post up - without that I am finding it difficult to keep track.

I will look over this again today in-between clients at clinic.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Ok, just that I find bumping threads often to be potentially bothersome to others.

Here is an update: This morning, my son again has his telltale initial coughing with a wheezing sound coming while he breathes. This is the start of Fall season here with high pollen. He complains that his stomach hurts when he coughs. As usual, I have to give him albuterol to make sure its arrested in time otherwise it will be another 3 days down for him, of that I'm sure.

aske123 last decade
Ok I want you to get hold of Carcinosinum 200c, and give him a single dose.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
Ok. How would we assess if it has worked or not? As I mentioned, the only practical way to assess in his case is if it eliminates the problem in a day or two. If it doesn't, then naturally, it remedies itself in 2-3 days. The other way to assess I guess is if it does not occur again, say, for a month?

The correct remedy improves a person on all levels. You will know if it is right, there will be changes of all sorts, in mood, in character, in energy - all sorts of things. We need to watch the Direction of Cure, which is our primary tool for judging the curative potential of any remedy.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
David, looks like this is not in my collection and I will need to order it.

Would it be possible for you to let me know if you are thinking of any other remedies and potencies going ahead? I'd like to order a few together to make the delivery & fees more efficient.

aske123 last decade
Gotcha. I will try to do that today. I have a very full day at clinic but I will attempt to look at the case for potential remedies apart from Carc.

brisbanehomoeopath last decade
David, thanks.
I will wait for it.

BTW, one thing I did not mention is that his arms and legs are always warm. If you ever touch him, you'd be surprised how warm he feels (you'd think he has fever but he doesn't).
