no appetite, anxiety, or extreme worry?

Hi, I an new here and need some help. To begin with, about three weeks ago I just had a bad case of the flu, or cold...(yellow mucous). Was in bed on and off for about 4 days before I felt better and started to eat again.

Then, after I was feeling better I woke up one night hot, not sweating but feeling like a flush feeling. I have always been a worrier of my health, so I got scared and checked out possibly symtoms on the internet. I found some illnesses with loss of appetite and night sweats (which I know think i didn't have)...lymphona, hodgkins and some others.

Since reading that I have been in a constant state of worry! I wake up in the morning waiting to feel hungry and I don't and then I get even more sure I have something..stomach cancer etc. etc.

This has gone on for a couple of weeks now. I still eat but no real hunger, only just because I know I have to.

I do have some burn sensation in my stomach at times and maybe it's a peptic ulcer...also read they can stop an appetite. Anyway...my wife says it is all in my head! She says I have got myself so wound up, it's acute anxiety or something like that.

Is this a possible for a anxiety to shut of a appetite?? Or could it be some other type of mental phobia? How can I get over this?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
This is exactly what happened in the 1930's when the book companies started flogging Medical dictionaries , door to door.
People read them and KNEW without a doubt , that they had the symptoms listed on almost every page of the book.

Now we have the internet and people have not changed one iota!.

Try looking at philosophy on the internet and realise that we ALL have to die .

THr choices we make as we go through life determine how we die. It may be that as anxiety causes stress and stress can kill you -----?.

On the other hand you could make a serious study of homeopathy and its resources and beliefs and not only cure youself but help others.

Thanks...I do understand the philosophy and also how reading about illnesses can make someone think they have them.
I guess my primary question is about anxiety.

Can a persons mind filled with constant worry and fear affect an appetite to the extent they lose it?

I have the same condition like Jerry682....it began when my husband went to the ER....I got the flu for a month....all 3 of my children were sick....I looked up my symptoms on the internet as well and went crazy! I have...loss of appetite, weight loss, loose and more frequent bowels(once a day, not normal for me), nervousness, anxiety, don't want to be alone, melancholy, especially when it's overcast out or rainy, constant worry of my health condition or my family's health, insomnia, heart pounding hard, depression, irritablity, short and high tempered, lost interest in activites......my question is...should I take Ars Alb and how much? It looks like that fits my symptoms the best. Thanks!

Anyone who takes Valium to help sleep is starting on the slippery road to addiction and eventual death --- DONT DO IT:

NO leave Melatonin alone!

The best homeopathic remedy for 'mind churn' is Thuja 30c.
