Every time you succuss the remedy it becomes a little stronger. That dose also 'tunes' your vital force to that level (eg. 30c+4 succussions). Next time you take the remedy but you hit it twice you are tuned to 30c+6 succussions. If you hit it 4 times again you are tuned to 30c+10 succussions.

The reaction a person gets when the succussions are increased is more about the jump in potency, as the remedy (if the same bottle of liquid is being used) is also tuned to a certain level and stays there. Too big a jump and symptoms aggravate. Which symptoms aggravate will depend on so many factors, but typically the symptoms deeper in will be more aggravated the higher the jump in potency(succussions). Whenever a remedy is too strong for a patient, you will see aggravation at a deeper level, and often more widespread degree of aggravation.

Of course homoeopathic aggravation should be followed by cure. Aggravation due to sensitivity of the patient or due to advanced tissue changes in the body doesn't mean anything in terms of suitability of the medicine.

If a person aggravates on every dose, then something should be done to alter the dose so that the patient can tolerate it. This might mean diluting further, changing the potency, or changing the remedy.

The first question should be whether or not you are curing. Aggravation should be followed by cure. If you are aggravating with no cure then the remedy is not curative, but there is an internal obstacle. This obstacle may need to be included in the overall analysis and solution to the problem.

The symptoms that aggravate, should also cure. This is the homoeopathic principle at work - what a medicine can cause it can cure. So if it aggravates the symptoms it can only do so because it is capable of curing them.

Direction of cures means the improvement might be seen mentally first, and flow down through the other levels. At any stage if the flow gets 'stuck' then the remedy can be repeated or a new remedy selected.
