Copper IUD insertion

I am scheduled to get a copper coil (IUD or IUC, depending on your country of origin) in December, and I was wondering if there was anything I should take prior to or after the procedure to alleviate pain.

1. In the past, I had a breast reduction and my doctor had me take arnica montana daily (I think it was 30c) either one or two weeks leading up to the surgery. It went well, and I had hardly any pain at all after I woke up, despite dire warnings from other women who'd had the same done.

2. The iud will be inserted during the 5 days of my period, and gets put into the uterus through the cervix, along with a measuring device to 'sound' the depth of my uterus. The measurement is done simply as with a ruler, no imaging tech involved.

3. I have a history of light-to-medium more or less regular periods spaced 28-31 days apart. I tend to have either diarrhea or constipation at the same time, but next to no cramping. The cramping I do experience is a mild but sharp, sudden tearing pain that happens at various points on my abdomen and generally happens if I sit up straighter suddenly or suck in my stomach. It happens maybe 3 or 4 times during the entire course of my period.

4. During one or two days of my period, my abdomen feels fatigued/exhausted. This is relieved by Advil or when I sit down or apply a hot water bottle. Rubbing my lower abdomen or lower back also helps.

5. I bruise relatively easily but often don't notice the injury that causes the bruise. This is a family trait, but I stopped bruising almost entirely on my upper body and arms for a few years while I was fencing sabre. I haven't fenced since 2007 and my arms bruise easily again.

6. I have been told to expect mild to severe cramping and fatigue the day of the procedure. Many women also say they black out for a few minutes; some had no trouble returning to their daily routines afterwards and some had to lie down for the rest of the day.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Yes you can take few doses of Arnica 30c on the day of procedure and therafter until you are ok. You may also take 4 tablets of mag phos 6x thrice a day if the cramps are very painful.
