Trouble Swallowing

I have a swallowing problem. Often, when I take my herbal capsules, they either get stuck or go down fine then come back up enough to get stuck. Always in the same place, the area about the opening into my stomach. I also have occasional problems swallowing food. A few years ago a GI Dr put the scope down and could not find any reason for the problem. Everything looked fine. But the problem remains. Is there anything I can do besides giving up eating and taking pills?
