There are two words THERAPEUTIC and PROPHYLATIC.
therapeutic means, you are taking medicines in required (minimum quantity to get optimum effect) dosage to treat specific clinic condition/ disease or symptom. While prophylatic means, you take them for preventation of the disease or symptoms.
Taking lower dosage do not necessary mean phalytic dosage. It can be sub therapeutic dosage.

Taking TULSI(HOLI BACIN) for immunity or swine flu is prophylaxis while taking INFLANZUM (HOMEO) or TAMIFLU(ALOPATHY) is therapeutic.
Since homeopathy works n different science, some of the alopathy terms, may not be appropriate in some cases
