Chickenpox risk

Hi,

My brother is suffering from chickenpox. I’m taking homeopathy med. which is given to me by homeopathy clinic staff. I like to know how much chance is there for me to get chickenpox and also if I’m at risk by what time I should be able to know my chickenpox status.

Regards

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
It all depends on your resitance level.

If you don't get it within 20 days of your brother getting it, the chances of your getting it are minimal.

Thanks Murthy,

One more question. Is there any test, which I can perform to check my chickenpox status. And is it possible for me to transfer to third person.

There is no test as far as I know.

Is chickenpox infectious?

Yes, it is very infectious. The virus travels in the air and then settles on clothes, bedding, etc. A child with chickenpox is likely to pass it on to most classmates and household members who have not already had it. It takes 11-20 days to develop symptoms after catching the virus (the 'incubation period').

A person with chickenpox is infectious from 2-4 days before the rash first appears until all the spots have crusted over (commonly about 5-6 days after onset of the illness).
