i come across a number of homeopaths who give homeo remedies for two weeks, one month or even for years, of course not to treat acute diseases; and i myself have wondered at the long duration required for homeopathic cure of a disease.
could you explain this for me? is this classical homeopathic method or mere money making method?
i think it would be more fruitful if more than one member could respond to this doubt of mine.

Actually, giving a medicine for months is a wrong method . The homeopaths that do this are not classical homeopaths. And, yes, a part of it is money making where they charge for "2 months worth of medicine " or "6 months worth of medicine".
We give just 2-3 doses of a low potency or a single dose of a high potency and then wait and watch.
I point you to the Organon (which is the most fundamental book on homeopathy , written by the founder of homeopathy, Hahnemann), which is what a classical homeopath should prescribe by
Aphorism 242 of the organon
"As long, therefore, as the progressive improvement continues from the medicine administered, so long we can take for granted that the duration of the action of the helpful medicine, in this case at least, continues, and hence all repetition of any dose of medicine is forbidden."
The same point is also stressed in Aphorism 245.
"Even one dose of the same medicine which has up to now proved beneficial, if repeated before the improvement has begun to stand still in every direction, will, like an untimely interference, only aggravate the state....."
Only in case of LM potencies repetition is allowed. This is also mentioned in the 6th edition of the Organon.

sameer,
my wife has recently developed a kind of fungal infection on her nipples and on pubic area. has it got anything to do with her hypothyroidism?
when lab test was done, her TSH level was found to be within normal range. but she says she has tiredness and body pain and hair loss. could the lab test be wrong? anyway what should i do to cure her recently developed fungal infection? this kind of fungal infection was found on her at the time i started hypothyroidism treatment about two years back.
please advise me.

Can you describe the appearance of her infection ?

no, her infection does not look like blisters. actually there is not much to be seen on the infected parts. it appears like a very thin outermost layer of the skin has been scratched off. she has burning sensation when water falls on the infected area. also, she has pain when her nipples are held between fingers. feel free to ask for more information if you need.

she is likely to think that she is dominated and emotionally abused by me, her husband. she has no other history. i fail to say whether she is lashing out with words these days as she used to do. but she is still angry and yells at her child.
herleft eye frequently twitches these days. what do you think of kali sulf or sepia? it seens she has lost or diminished sexual desire these days.

I remember we did try Sepia, was there any benefit at that time ?
If there was no change then, then probably you need to try Graphites 200C , 3 doses on a single day and then observe for 1 week. | | |

my wife developed this fungal infection recently, about two weeks back. of course, she had it once or twice before and was cured by means of sulf calc lyco series. can we consider her present condition as acute? what about the dosage for acute conditions in general? can we give there a number of doses for about five or six days till the symptoms completely disappear? can we give LM potencies for weeks without successive dynamising?

Actually I think we did try Sulphur and Lycopodium and in high enough potencies , so if they were the indicated remedies, you should have seen benefit by now.
I would not recommend going to LMs while we are still not sure about the remedy choice. The LMs are very penetrating and can result in severe accessory symptoms.
And, regarding repetition, even in LMs, the successive doses have a different dynamization through sucussions given to the remedy bottle. Repetition can be done every few days or even daily IF needed as long as patient is improving slowly. Any striking amelioration would mean repetition is not needed, even with LMs. | | |

my question was actually not one pertaining to my persomal case; it was a general one. what i wanted to know was: can't we take repeated doses of a medicine for days on end in acute conditions?
2. if repeated doses of LM potencies are taken for days on end without successive succussion, will it have negative effect or zero result?
if an acute flu condition with bryonia symptoms comes before you, for instance, how would you prescribe? i ask all these questions because i want to understand clearly about potency. please do not misunderstand me.
in my persomal case, is there anything wrong in giving two doses of graphites 200 instead of three doses that you suggested?

sameer, my wife's conditions were not improved with graphites. her fungal infection gets relieved temporarily when washed with calendula, echinacea hydrastis solution. once it is discontinued it comes back. more over, she has developed leucorrhoea also which is slightly thick and ricesoup white in colour. besides, all her earlier symptomslike tiredness, lack of energy, hairfall,are there still. according to the lab report, her t3 t4 and TSH are within normal range. but her blood sugar and total cholesterol are slightly above normal. what should i do next?

Hi Doc
I am hypothyroid for last 4 years and taking thyrox 100 everyday morning ,recently went thorough web and found allopathy is not good for long term, please suggest the homeopathy medicine for me.
i am 28yrs and 68kg(overweight by 10kgs), i get pain in my body very often and it pains like needle (during full moon its more). |
