Mother of new born baby - Gavini and other docs

My wife has just delivered a baby 4 days back. It was a normal delivery but she took epidural for painless delivery. It has been 4 days now but her back still aches a lot.

Can you please suggest something for the pain or overall condition.

8. Backache:

Backache is a common complication. Back pain commonly occurs after epidural anesthesia (18.9% of the time ). Upper back pain can happen at some distance from the site where the epidural is injected. The back pain can last very long-term. Nineteen percent of women had long-term backache after epidural anesthesia. It probably results from a combination of its effects on the nerves and from extreme postures and stretching that occurs after the epidural during labor.

Low back pain after epidural anesthesia for childbirth is also frequently mentioned.

Other than backache what are the other symptoms?

How is her thirst,Mood, bonding with the baby etc?

Give as many details as you observed.

Generally Phosphorous is a good medicine for the after effects of Anasthesia, but the symptoms should confirm it.

She also has menstrual cramping and it mostly happens when she is feeding the baby.

She feels a lot of thirst, mood is mostly normal and good bonding with the baby. She also has sore nipples.

Please advise the medicine, potency and way to take it.

I have strong menstrual-like cramps when I nurse my newborn. Is that normal?

Yes. During the first few days to weeks after delivery, you may feel strong cramps in your uterus when your milk lets down. Breastfeeding helps shrink the uterus, so nursing moms may be able to return to their pre-pregnancy shape and weight quicker.

It is not a peculiar symptom and hence doesn't help in choosing the homeopathic remedy.

We can emiprically try Phosphorous in 200c potency, three doses only on consecutive days. One dose is 4 pellets/ one drop in about 20ml. of water.
