Sharp catching pains in hips
6 months ago I was diagnosed as having osteoarthritis in my hips. I am a 37-year-old active male. I have been experiencing a pinching sensation in my hips when getting out of chairs & standing still. Pain totally goes when walking & swimming. I have been taking Cortaflex capsules for the past 6 months. The ingredients are as follows: Mucopolysaccharides (source of Chondroitin Sulphate), Glucosamine Sulphate, Hyaluronic Acid, Glucuronic Acid, Proline, Glutamic Acid, L-Glutamine, Glycine, Aspartic Acid, Sulphur and Cellulose Capsules. I have run out recently about 2 weeks ago; they are difficult to get hold of. Symptoms have got worse. A friend of mine recommended I take Rhus Tox. He has been taking it for years & also gives it to his horses & dogs. He totally recommends it. He also said that if no affect is achieved in 10 days try Bryonia. Is this the right approach? Please can advise me on alternative products.Green Tea on 2004-11-08

Rhus tox and bryonia have opposite indications
R tox - better on moving
Bryonia - worse on moving.
But if a build up of crystals is suspected in the hip joint then the problem is a kidney malfaunction as the blood is not being filtered efficiently.

The sharp catching was not apparent when on Cortaflex. I am still finding it difficult obtaining this product. At the beginning of the week, I obtained some liquid Glucosamine (1500mg). Since then the pain seems to have gone. Should I also take Rhus Tox as a precaution? I would like to stop taking the Diclofenac Sodium that the doctor prescribed if the pain gets unbearable. Would Rhus Tox be a good substitute?
