This is what Kent says in his preface to this book.

***********
To learn the Materia Medica, one must master Hahnemann's Organon, after which the symptomatology and the Organon go "hand in hand." The Organon, the symptomatology, and a full repertory must be the constant reference books, if careful homeopathic prescribing is to be, attained and maintained.

All who wish to make a more extensive examination of the reason for the methods used in the work are referred to the chapter on value of symptoms in the Lectures on Homoeopathic Philosophy.

How irresponsible it is, to say that a misunderstood sentence is the sole gude for selection of a medicine for a chronic problem, and nothing else is required?

People get exposed very badly by their pointless insistance.

Any person with an average intelligence can understand the absurdity of the statement in the above post.

I will leave at this, as I don't want to expose a person's inability to understand more and more.

"I have a problem with arthritis in my left hip.
I am 64 years old and have kept this arthritis problem at bay by taking Glucoomine Condroiton for about 10 years"

I cannot do better then quote what Dr. Boericke has described in his Materia Medica about the above problem against - "Natrum Sulph"

"Extremities.--Swelling of axillary glands. Inflammation around root of nails. Burning in soles; œdema of feet; itching between toes. Gout. Pain in limbs, compels frequent change in position. Run-arounds. Pain in HIP JOINTS, WORSE LEFT, worse, stooping. Stiffness of knees, cracking of joints. Rheumatism, worse in damp cold weather.

I suggest the patient try it - i.e. Natrum Sulph 30 C (4 pills) 3 times a day for about a week.
