I don't have any allergy from food related things but in winter season or in dry weather sometimes I feel very hot and body and head starts itching.
Even it sometimes happens when I am very tensed or irritated or doing very hard work or doing excersise or standing under sun light i.e anything that generates heat in my body. If body itches continiously for bearing above mentioned conditions some red pimples also seen in the body. All these happens in winter mainly or in less humid environment. But it goes instantly if I cool down myself or taking rest in bed.
It creates problem whenever I am going outside and I have to stand under sunlight. In that case I used to take alopathic "Cetrizine" tablet for instant remedy. But it is not the permanent solution. Kindly tell me if there is specific medicine for that.
N.B.: I used to take Nux Vomica 30 and Carbo Veg 30 for acidity and headache sometimes(Not regularly).

Dear Dr.Mahfooz

Please don't embarass any further by calling me a doctor. : )

I am an engineer by qualification, and a manager by profession. I am a lover of homeopathy, and spend most of my spare time in reading, discussing, and thinking about homeopathic aspects.

I am by no means great, and I simply share whatever little I know.

Hello Dr. Mahfooz,
I don't know I am right or wrong, Symptoms of Psorinum which I have seen is "Psorinum is a cold medicine; wants the head kept warm, Wants warm clothing even in summer. Extreme sensitiveness to cold. debility, independent of any organic disease, especially the weakness remaining after acute disease."
But in my case actually I prefer Cold weather than hot one. I can bear cold without warm clothings and actualy in winter cold does not create any problem for me, hotness in winter creates problem for myself. In a very cold weather if I stay at home there are no problem with me, problem is in less humid weather with hot environment. But if anyhow I get hotness due to irritation or outer hot sunlight or heavy work myb body itches. In summer it does not create any problem as there is lot of humidity in summer season.
In winter season I like coldness, but when somehow I get hotted that creates problem means body and head itching. Sometime to cool down my body I used to bathe 2 time in winter also though in in summer it is my regular practise. My 10 hour work environment is also airconditioned.
So please tell me whether psorinum is proper for myself?

Questioning like this is to be encouraged to prevent prescribers from blurting out whatever crosses their mind.

Psorinum is definitely not the medicine for you with your modalities.

If you need further advice, answer the following questionnaire.

*******

1. Describe the complaint in your own words--including whether it came on suddenly or gradually.

2. Etiology--meaning, what caused it, if you know. What was going on at, or around, the time of the occurrence?

3. Sensation--describe the pain or other feeling. Does it extend anywhere, does it shoot anywhere? For instance, "It feels like there's a crumb in my throat, I'm constantly trying to swallow. The pain shoots to my left ear."

4. Appearance--what does the person, or the part that's bothering the person, look like; anything remarkable? Red skin, droopy eyes, etc.?

5. Location--where on the body?

6. Modalities--what makes the complaint better or worse? Consider: heat or cold, bathing, warm rooms, fresh air, drafts, motion, time of day when person gets worse, what position is best/worse, stimuli--conversation, noise, light, touch, pressure, massage, music, company, consolation, etc.

7. Concomitants (additional symptoms that came with the main complaint)--for instance, complaint + crying; complaint + excessive salivation; complaint + chills, etc.

8. Discharges--color, odor, consistency. (A discharge is anything liquid that's coming out, oozing out, etc. So, for instance, runny nose, diarrhea, lacrymation and so on.)

9. Generals--these are all the "I" symptoms: I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm thirsty, I'm tired, I'm sad, I'm irritable, I'm hungry, I want pickles, etc.

10. The mentals: Have the mentals changed from normal, in what way? What's different mentally and emotionally?

11. What does the person say? For instance: "I'm fine, leave me alone." "Don't leave!" "I wanna go home!" "I want ice", etc.

12. Thirst--is the person thirsty, not thirsty, what temperature drinks, what kind of drinks, does he only want sips, or gulps, does he drink a little bit frequently or a lot infrequently, and so on.

13. Fever?

14. Sweating?

15. Odors? Are odors an issue, such as bad breath, foul odors of any sort?

16. What is most striking about the condition? What is most peculiar--for instance, the person can't lie still, the person is cold but heat and blankets aggravate; the person has burning pains but is better for hot drinks like tea.

17. Is there a diagnosis? For instance, flu, teething, etc.

18. Describe the patient's energy--is he quiet, restless, agitated, sleepy, prostrated, collapsed, stuporous, anguished, desperate, etc.

Re: Allergy problem in winter season or in dry weatherFrom Shyamal_B [Log on to view profile] on 2007-07-06
Yeah, Mr. Murthy, I am giving the answers here:

1:) Describe the complaint in your own words:
I have already given a detailed description, though I am repeating once again. It comes suddenly not gradually. Whenever I feel very hot it comes. Actually itching starts throughout my body, even in the scalp.
In winter season or in dry weather sometimes I feel very hot and body and head starts itching.
Even it sometimes happens when I am very tensed or irritated or doing very hard work or doing exercise or standing under sun light i.e. anything that generates heat in my body. If body itches continuously for bearing above mentioned conditions some red pimples also seen in the body. All these happens in winter mainly or in less humid environment. But it goes instantly if I cool down myself or taking rest sometimes in a cool place.
It creates problem whenever I am going outside and I have to stand under sunlight. In that case I used to take allopathic "Cetrizine" tablet for instant remedy. But it is not the permanent solution.
Hotness in winter creates problem for myself. In a very cold weather if I stay at home there are no problem with me, problem is in less humid weather with hot environment. But if anyhow I get hotness due to irritation or outer hot sunlight or heavy work my body itches. In summer it does not create any problem as there is lot of humidity in summer season.
In winter season I like coldness, but when somehow I get hot that creates problem means body and head itching. Sometime to cool down my body I used to bathe 2 time in winter also though in summer it is my regular practice. My 10 hour work environment is also air-conditioned.

2.) Etiology--meaning, what caused it, if you know. What was going on at, or around, the time of the occurrence?

If I stand under sunlight for a while in winter it occurs also.
It generally occurs from internal feeling of hotness in less humid environment. It may come from excitation or irritation or angriness or outer sunlight, but it comes suddenly and goes also at an instant whenever I cool down myself.

3.) Sensation--describe the pain or other feeling. Does it extend anywhere, does it shoot anywhere? For instance, "It feels like there's a crumb in my throat, I'm constantly trying to swallow. The pain shoots to my left ear."

Actually continuous itching throughout the skin of the body, scalp and skin of hand and it increases if I don't change the state of occurring. If it itches continuously 5-7 minutes and I don't cool down myself it generates red pimples throughout the skin but it goes also instantly whenever I cool down myself.
No other symptoms are there only when itching start due to hotness I look for cool place.

4.) Appearance--what does the person, or the part that's bothering the person, look like; anything remarkable? Red skin, droopy eyes, etc.?

If itching continues for 5-7 minutes and I don't cool down myself it generates red pimples throughout the skin but it goes also instantly whenever I cool down myself.

5.) Location--where on the body?
Intermittently throughout the skin of the body and head scalp.

6.) Modalities--what makes the complaint better or worse?
Makes Better : Cold, Bathing, fresh air.
Makes worse : Heat, Warm room, motion, sunlight.

7.) Concomitants (additional symptoms that came with the main complaint)--for instance, complaint + crying; complaint + excessive salivation; complaint + chills, etc.

No additional symptoms are there as I have seen.

8.) Discharges--color, odor, consistency. (A discharge is anything liquid that's coming out, oozing out, etc. So, for instance, runny nose, diarrhea, lacrymation and so on.)

No

9.) Generals--these are all the "I" symptoms: I'm hot, I'm cold, I'm thirsty, I'm tired, I'm sad, I'm irritable, I'm hungry, I want pickles, etc.

Yeah, when it happens I feel hot.

10.) The mentals: Have the mentals changed from normal, in what way? What's different mentally and emotionally?

Yeah it also happens whenever I am very excited or my head warms due to angriness or excitation.

11.) What does the person say? For instance: "I'm fine, leave me alone." "Don't leave!" "I wanna go home!" "I want ice", etc.

That time I only want cool place to cool down myself.

12.) Thirst--is the person thirsty, not thirsty, what temperature drinks, what kind of drinks, does he only want sips, or gulps, does he drink a little bit frequently or a lot infrequently, and so on.

No.

13.) Fever?

No.

14.) Sweating?

No, a bit may come due to hotness. Generally I sweat very less though I drink a lot of water.

15.) Odors? Are odors an issue, such as bad breath, foul odors of any sort?

Normal odor, no change.

16.) What is most striking about the condition? What is most peculiar--for instance, the person can't lie still, the person is cold but heat and blankets aggravate; the person has burning pains but is better for hot drinks like tea.

During that time, inner feeling of hotness due to excitation or outer hotness due to environment also worsen the condition.

17.) Is there a diagnosis? For instance, flu, teething, etc.

Yeah, teething is there, I have done RCT(Root Canal Treatment), though no medicine I have taken.

18.) Describe the patient's energy--is he quiet, restless, agitated, sleepy, prostrated, collapsed, stuporous, anguished, desperate, etc.

You can say agitated a bit.

I need some more data to confirm the remedy I have arrived at.

Let us keep the itching problem aside for some time, and discuss about your acidity problem.

Use the same questionnarie and tell us all about it, in as much detail as possible.

O.K.

Get Lycopodium 200c

Dissolve about 4 pellets in about 250 ml. of clean water, mix thoroughly, and take a sip out of it.

Make sure that there are no odors on you (perfumes etc), near you (in the room), and in your mouth while taking the medicine.

Store the remaining water in the capped bottle, after labelling it as medicine, so as others won't use it inadvertantly, and keep it in the fridge.

Take this single dose, wait for two days and report.

I have taken Lycopodium yesterday morning, should I take it tomorrow again?
Yesterday and today also there is a bit of acidity and sleeping problem (Insomnia like). I don't know whether this is due to the medicine or for other reason.

Shake the remedy bottle well, hit it against a hard surface with moderate force, 5 or six times on a hard surface, and take a small sip out of it.

Make sure that the precautions regarding the odors is followed, meticulously.

Again wait for two days and report.

Thogu I have Lycopodium 200C liquid 10 ml botttle with me. I have used 4 drop from it in a glass of water and consumed 4 teaspoons out of it and remaining portion drained away.

If you don't follow instructions, I can't help you.

Read my post on how to take the remedy once again, and come back if you have any doubts.

I must have spent a couple of hours in analysing your case, and I didn't expect you to be so casual about it.

Re: Allergy problem in winter season or in dry weatherFrom Shyamal_B [Log on to view profile] on 2007-07-13
I am extremely sorry if you feel anything bad. But I have not taken it casually, as I have bought the Lycopodium 200c liquid from market. As you have told 4 pellets I have taken 4 drops from it. But I have not taken a bottle as I was not having that (As that was not a weekend thats why I have not got much time to buy a bottle from outside), so didn't store and thought to make it again at weekend. You have told to take just 4 teaspoons out of 25o ml, I took like that only.
Now tell me where am I wrong?
is it not equal 4 drop of Lycopodium 200C and 4 pellets of Lycopodium 200C?

In the bottle it is written that Lycopodium 200, is it same as Lycopodium 200C?
(It is shield bottle from Hanneman company, India)

and should I take every third day 4 teaspoons from that remedy?
