The ABC Homeopathy Forum
homeopathic philosophy
Hello,I have a question about the concepts behind homeopathy. So if I'm understanding correctly, the 'patient'is watched and key symptoms are identified and interpreted in light of the person's more general characteristics. Then a remedy is prescribed which is intended to help the body through its natural course of healing. The substance in the remedy pushes the body along by mimicking the symptoms that is is already producing in response to some unhealthy force. Is this correct?
Next question.. I notice that some of the remedies are named similarly to everyday substances, for example chamomile, coffee, etc. Why not simply drink a cup of chamomile tea?
I recently brought my son to an allergist who explained to me the concept of determining the presence of allergy through testing, and watching the body's response to suspected allergens... then finding an ideal dose of the exact same substance causing the reaction and using this dose to alleviate or avoid symptoms. What would be the difference between this and homeopathy and do you see any relationship or theoretical similarity here? Thank you and I look forward to any responses.

Dear Carolyn:
You are right in your first concept.
Chamomille tea has no the potency as an homeopathic remedy; and in tea form, you are using it as an ponderal (allopathic medicine) but that's not homeopathy.
When you have some homeopathic medicine, it has passed a process in order to make more potens and refine his effects.
The difference between vaccines (for allergy or another cases) and homeopathic medicines is vaccines are a shot in the organism, and sometimes the organism can't be strong than the vaccines, and an imbalance in the health is produced. Homeopathic remedies (for allergies or another) act with a minimum dosis stimulating the organism to be more resistent to the allergenics.
Really, the difference between allopathic medicines and homeopathic medicines is the preparation way, and the effects pretended.
Best regards
Andrés
