The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Possible Hernia?

I have not posted to this forum, but came across another post when I was researching homeopathy and hernias. Since I found that post, I will provide the following information to give you more information about myself.

First, let me start by saying that I underwent gastric bypass surgery (Distal Roux-en-Y) in November, 2002.
I lost a total of 140 lbs. since then.

1. Heidi
2. 33
3. Female
4. Married
5. 180 (I have gained weight in the last few months; my lowest weight was 162 lbs. since my weight loss surgery).
6. 5'7'
7. USA
8. Cold (30-40F), but mild today at 55F.
9. Soreness in abdomen near liver, under both rib cages, to the right and left sides of my navel. It feels very tender and sore, almost like a bruise. I have had these symptoms for maybe a year, but in the last few months it has gotten worse. I find it gets worse when I sing, exercise, or reach/stretch.
10. Non Diabetic
11. Desire sweets/sour/salt a lot. Desire breads/pasta a lot.
12. Thirst is average. I drink only water and 100% fruit juices.
13. Tongue is light pink with a white coating, and more pink on the edges that touch my teeth.
14. Current BP is 118/76
15. My abdomen is sore in several places (see above).
16. I feel as if I might have hernias due to post abdominal surgery. The pain is not intense, it just feels like a pulling and the abdomen is sore to touch; almost like a bruise. It seems to get worse after I eat too.
17. It has caused me to feel more anxious and uncomfortable.
18. It feels like my abdomen is very sore; almost like a bruise.
19. I don't regret having my gastric bypass surgery because I lost 140 lbs., but I am sad that it may have caused me to have hernias.
20. My husband and I own a business and I am under a great amount of financial stress all of the time.
21. It's constant stress due to our business.
22. I feel anxiety because of this, I feel depressed, sad and hopeless.
23. What are you showing by that gesture of your hand.(habits or Action)? **I'm not sure what you're asking here.
24. I am on no medications. I take whole food supplements by Standard Process (Catalyn; a multi-vitamin). I did take an 'Airborne' (homeopathic cold remedy) tonight as I felt a tinge of sore throat after visiting my neice who had a cough.
25. My dad was diagnoised with lung cancer in September, 2005; he was a non-smoker. He had 1/2 of his left lung removed but no chemo/radiation. He is overweight as is my mother, but niether have diabetes or any other health complaints.
26. qualification of patient **I do not understand this question.
27. I work in a healthcare office and am sitting at a computer all day.
28. I love bread, pasta, sweets, salty snacks. I have an aversion to fish, and sometimes beef, especially hamburgers. I eat mostly fruits, veggies and chicken, but will freqently eat things I shouldn't like pizza, pasta, salty snacks and chocolate.
29. I am a very detaile-oriented person. I crave organization and get anxious when my house is a mess or my office desk is messy. I feel much better when things are organized and in their proper place. I also feel much better when my house is clean. I am a people pleaser. I will do things for others, even when I do not want to, just so they won't be angry with me. I care very much what others think about me. I am very critical of myself. Even after having gastric bypass surgery, I still feel fat, unfit and unattractive. Sometimes I realize I am a very beautiful person, but I constantly crave attention and for someone to feed me compliments about myself. I am very creative. I love to draw, paint and take photos. I feel very anxious and depressed about financial matters. My husband and I have a great marriage, but we are very deep in debt. This makes me question my choices sometimes. I wish I would have finished college so I could have a good-paying job to help pay our bills, for example. I feel I am a very plesent person to live with. I rarely get angry. I tend to keep my emotions inside. I'm mostly irritable during my monthly menses; my husband automatically knows that time of month. I am very personable, and in our business, our clients enjoy talking to me very much. I feel loved, but have to be told all the time because I'm insecure. I enjoy sexual activities, but rarely feel satisfied.

30. I get aggrovated when my husband makes me angry. This is not often.
31. Attached here your photographs of the affected area. I do not have photos of my abdomen. It looks flat and normal. I do not have any bulging, even if I were to contract my abdominal muscles. I have palpated the areas that are tender and do not feel any bulging; just tenderness.

Thank you so much for any guidance you can offer. I feel desperate, and I have insurance with a huge deductible, and it would be one added stress to our financial picture which causes me anxiety. Thank you!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Oh, I got to thinking. I should add a few things.

I developed allergies about a year after my weight loss surgery. I have had my two cats for 9 years, and suddenly in the last 3 years, I have gotten my allergies. After seeing an allergist, she confirmed my allergy to cats, as well as dogs, horses, mold, dust, trees, pollen, flowers, grass, and oats. I never followed-up with care with the allergy doctor. I have occasional flare-ups, where I will sneeze several times a day as if I have hay fever. It happens at all times of the year, but usually if I have been cuddling a lot with the cats. My nose runs on a daily basis and I constantly have sores at the tip of my nose because of it.

Also, I was diagnoised with Thyroid (hypothyroidism) and was treated for it by a homeopath in the year 2000. I have not had to take anything since.

Also, I was diagnoised with Polycystic Ovarian Disease in 2002. After having a year of missed menses, it was determined that I had several cysts on both ovaries. I never started drug treatment for that, but instead sought after my homeopath for that as well. Also, I had weight loss surgery, and with those two things, the cysts seemed to resolve themselves.

After seeing my OB/GYN for my annual check-up in April, 2006, he said that one ovary seemed bigger then the other, indicating to him that there may be possible cysts. He recommended getting a vaginal ultrasound, but I didn't have it done, because I knew it would only confirm his suspicions and would be a waste of money. Plus, all he can recommend is putting me on the pill or some other drug.

I still have timely menses, every 28 days. I find that my cramps are more unbearable the last few months, however.

Plus, I have gained 18 pounds in just the last 6 months. I do not strictly watch what I eat on a daily basis, nor do I exercise consistently. I had, however, maintained my weight for about 2 years, until the last 6 months, without dramatically changing my eating/exercise habits.

Hope these additions open the window a little more. I'll keep thiking about my whole person a little more tonight and write more if I can. If you need any further information from me, please contact me.

Thank you,
Heidi
