Nat Mur for depression

I am 52, male, and have been taking Nat Mur for depression. It works sometimes very well but other times not at all. I take one 30C on the tongue, then another 12 hours later, up to four in two days. I get minor headaches from this in the back of my neck but I feel very much better emotionally for 5 days or so. But recently the Nat mur does nothing. No headaches. No improvement.

The nat mur was suggested by a professional homeopath a couple years ago. I have not seen her since. At first it didnt do much because I didnt take enough, apparently.

When I read the nat mur "profile" , it fits me exactly. I like to be alone, love salt, etc. I want to be close, but I fear closeness. When people get too close I push them away. My siblings have all been to therapy as well as myself. I am an engineer and somewhat cereberal. I hate sports. I have a good wife and kids.

Why does nat mur work well just sometimes? Am I doing something that would antidote it, like using a household product or shampoo or something? On occasion I have used Eucalyptus to clear my sinuses but not lately.

Dear Barney

To get out of depression start learning homeopathy. Buy a material medica and start playing with the software on this site.

People look for medicine to get out of depression but it rarely works in the long term. Any medicine works for a while and then ...

So one must change the life style.

In my personal experience, homeopathy works best in water. If I take them under the tongue, I don't get any results.

I have to dissolve 3-4 pellets in a cup of water, take a teaspoon of it, and then I refrigerate it.

And when I need to take some more, I add some water to the container and shake it 50 times.

Pat2006 last decade
How long have you been taking the Nat Mur 30C?

robertv last decade
Is it necessary to shake it exactly for 50 time,if less or more then what will be difference,to me proper mixing regardless of number of counts is sufficient.Does excessive shaking produces more energy?please explain if possible.

Robertv:

I took Nat mur about 18 months ago, just a couple times. I was at the bottom emotionally. It helped but I did not stick with it. I recently tried again, this time taking notes and repeating doses. I took 4 pills in 3 days under the tongue. By the third day I felt great, a remarkable difference. It lasted 3 days and I sunk like a rock. I took three more pills for 3 days. the next morning I woke up so lifted, and it lasted for 5 days. the next round took 4 days to work and it lasted 21 days! Until yesterday. I am taking 30C pills.

I am glad to note that qualified homeopaths like Sajjad show interest in the liquid or wet dose mentioned by Pat2006.

I have used this method of administering all Homeopathic remedies for the last year and you can read about my conversion by Dr Luc de Schepper who first started me on this method on:

To Barney 52

Nat Mur 6c in the liquid dose may help you better than the 30c.

Dosage is 1 teaspoonful taken twice daily after succussion of the bottle at least 6 times.

Joe De Livera last decade
Dear Mr. Barney,

If you have been taking Nat Mur 30C for two years I suppose it is time to get 50C.

I don't believe in going back to 6C which is a lower dose.

I will be happy to answer any more questions.

Regards,

Dear Pat2006,
I clicked on the name but Barney's profile is not available. It is possible to see everyone else. Any suggestions?

robertv last decade
To Robert

You may like to know that the reason why I suggested the lower potency of Nat Mur is because the higher potencies do not seem to have the same curative effect as the lower.

The recommended potency for mental ailments is the triturated salts in the decimal potencies, 3x, 6x but they cannot be used in the liquid dose and must be taken whole.

The 6c however is effective and can be used in the liquid dose.

Hi all
Thank you for your responses. I thought I left a post with my email address but apparently I am not allowed to The forum bumps me off.

At the moment I am using ear drops which I understand (and have seen from previous experience) that it will antidote the Nat Mur. But I am feeling fine emotionally so I dont need another dose yet.
I updated my profile. I am able to open up about my status and condition and appreciate any advice.

Hello Barney,
The meds work upto a point.
For depression....you have to analyse the causes...yourself.
May be a thing of the past is causing you distress....may be a bad turn done by some one else....or a feeling of guilt due to your own action...whatever it is...you have to let go ....that is the only way.

Forgive the other or forgive your self whoever it is !!

Follow the prayer:

"Dear God forgive our trespasses as we have forgiven the trespasses done to us by others !!"

There is a GOD within you...HE will help you if you seek His help.

Start afresh...with a clean slate....bring new joy into your life.
Best wishes

While I believe strongly in prayer. Homeopathy has a definite place in depression. Sometimes past traumas deplete us of our energy. So much so that we do not have enough energy to forgive ourselves or others. Sometimes we have just enough energy to stay alive. Homeopathy helps our vital force to be strong enough to forgive and move on.

Before homeopathy, I spent many hours praying to release people who hurt me including myself, but it just wasn't enough because my vital force was so depleted.

Thanks for such an inspiring post. We all need to be reminded to forgive and leave the past behind and of the importance of prayer.

Prayer certainly enhances homeopathy and homeopathy enhances prayer.

Thanks and God Bless.

A gem of a statement that I shall remember.

Yes when you pray....GOD helps you to reach to the right homeopathic doctor and the medicine......!

To forgive and to seek forgiveness also works as a medicine on the human system.

Mr Pankaj:

I do rely on God, and I have spent many hours in consultation with counselors who promote forgivness, honesty, self honesty, etc.which come from God. It has helped me tremendously and I believe it lowered my blood pressure. God is truth and love, we cannot survive in lies and anger. Thank you.

General comment-
Dosages and potencies:

One thing I have noticed, both with the two homeopaths I have seen, and others, that there is no agreement on potencies or whether to use the wet or dry method. It seems we all have to discover for ourselves what's best for us. I think the information is out there regarding experience with Nat Mur and depression, but it has not been gathered. Maybe if you go to homeopathic conferences. Is there a homeopathic journal?
