Seeking remedy for a bedwetting child

Hi,

My son is going to be 12 soon, and he has never been dry. Please help. I've tried many things and it seems nothing is really working. Thank you very much in advance.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Is there any homeopathic medicine tried yet if so please let us know.

When does it occur ?

1. Only Night
2. Only Day
3. Both at night and day time

Time of occurrence...

1. In First Sleep
2. Deep Sleep
3. Early Morning

Does he grind his teeth ?

Ask him whether he dreams while sleeping ?

Any other ailments ?
--------------------
Please furnish these information. Don't worry, he'll be cured completely.

Try using an enuresis alarm. My son and daughter, aged 7 and 8 had bedwetting problems. I waited too long. The pediatric urologist recommended a bedwetting alarm. There are many to chose from. We chose the Chummie bedwetting alarm for its features. You should look into any alarm that suites your need.

Good luck!

It used to happen anytime he sleeps, day or night, in his first sleep. Now, it seldom happens in daytime, but night time it happens towards morning.

He used to grind his teeth a lot. I haven't noticed anything heavy as before recently, but he does it occasionally.

He dreams while he is sleeping, but I think they are random.

I noticed a bump on his pinky, he said it doesn't hurt, but I'm thinking about have it evaluated.
His lower legs are bow shaped. A specialist recommended that he should have a surgery if it's not correcting itself. We are waiting for a trial period. Also, I noticed white spots on his fingernails. His nose is easily stuffed whenever he feels cold. Bet-wetting is also aggravated when the weather is cold or if he eats too much cold food, like ice cream or drinks cold fluid.

Notice whether his urine turns opaque if collected and kept in a pot for some time or not.

His remedies are appended below:
--------------------------

4 doses of Equisetum Hyemale 200 in liquid form

Day 1 - Morning
1st Dose

Day 1 - Evening
2nd Dose

Day 2 - Morning
3rd Dose

Day 2 - Evening
4th Dose

One dose means 4 drops in half cup water, sip up slowly
-------------------------------

Then from 5th day onward

Calc. Phos. 12x in tablet form
3 doses daily for 1 month

1 dose means 3 tablets in half cup lukewarm water

Please give feedback after 5th day.

Thank you very much. Equisetum Hyemale 200 -- is it 200x or 200c?

gulayim 9 years ago

Give feedback before starting Calc.Phos

Thank you. I need to order it as I don't have it at home. I will order calc. phos. as well. Are all homeopathy medicines the same regardless of the company (byron, hylands, etc)?

The liquid form of Equisetum Hyemale has alcohol in it and I can't give my child any alcohol. Would you please provide an alternative solution? Thanks a lot in advance.

gulayim 9 years ago
Hi- Yes, the remedies are the same. Hylands, boiron and
Washington homeopathics are all good companies.

The cell salts are tablets and you can order online thru
vitacost or get them at Whole foods. ( hylands brand) but..
they only have 6x in the stores here usually so if you got
12x you would probably have to order from Vitacost.

The sugar pills are dipped or sprayed with the liquid remedy
and so are the cell salts. So there is going to be a tiny
bit of alcohol in them- it is a preservative. If this won't
suit you either, then you cannot use homeopathic remedies.

Please understand that you are not giving him alcohol. Take it as medicine only.

anindya384 9 years ago
Thank you for all replied. If the alcohol content is less than 2% I can give it to my child, but I'm afraid the liquid form has more than that. I'm hoping that the pellets or tablets have less alcohol content that the liquid form. Does anyone know the percentage of alcohol content in the remedies?

Here is a post on this from a homeopath on the Homeopathic
World Community site. The remedy in the form of pills-
(sac lac) meaning milk sugar has virtually no alcohol bc the
alcohol evaporates.Reply by kuram srinivasachar anand on November 1, 2010 at 11:52am
Is this discussion still open?
What I understand is alcohol used is just a carrier of the potentised medicine. Water can also carry but it degrades on storing for a long time. Alcohol stays for many years if not allowed to evaporate by tightly closing the container. It does not degrade. A vial of saclac pills ( say 5 gram pills) will absorb a few drops of this potentised remedy . Each globule catches the remedy and holds it. Now the globules are put on paper to dry so the alcohol evaporates and the globules are dry but with the remedy attached to them. In this condition, if not contaminated [unduly exposed to atmosphere or handled with hand etc.,] stay active for a long time..Many years. Now the question is why the medicine is stored with alcohol ? It is storage space in consideration. Potencies are available in alcoholic carriers. We can use them [say a 100ml bottle can wet many doses say a few hundred grams of saclac globules] when ever we need instead of storing voluminous globules, identified with remedies and potencies. These dry pills can be made to release medicine in water by adding water to a pill, shaking well to distribute the medicine into the water and administer the dose. This is my understanding.

So you may order the remedy in pill form, which is much cheaper
in the usa and be advised by your prescriber how to administer
that.

Thanks simone717 for giving a nice and elaborated view on the matter.

Dear Gulayim :
U can go for globules or tablet form. Whichever is available.

I don't know which part of the world u r from. But in India, local homeopathy remedy shops give you required doses also. I mean u can ask them to make 4 doses of Equisetum Hyemale 200c in sac lac.

U can also take the medicine in globules form too. In that case take 8 globules per dose.

Cal. Phos 12x is availbale in tablet form. Take a bottle of 20 Grams of that.

Thank you again simone717 and anindya384 for your helpful reply. I'm in the US and I've found Equisetum Hyemale 200c pellets are available online. Now, can you please let me know the dosage?

gulayim 9 years ago
Give him 3 tablets in half cup lukewarm water 4 times a day for two days. Then wait one day. Give a feedback on 4th day.

Doses of Calc. Phos are same as mentioned in earlier posts on this thread. But start the same only after getting response to your feedback.

anindya384 9 years ago
Hi anindya384,

I received the remedies started giving the prescribed doses to my child. I gave him total eight doses in two days. I feel his condition worsened starting the second night. What should I do now? Thanks a lot.

gulayim 9 years ago
Please someone respond to my post. I need to know what to do next.

gulayim 9 years ago
Standard homoeopathic practice is to stop any medicine as soon as the symptoms worsen, and wait for the aggravation to die down. Once that has happened, there should be signs of improvement.

Continuing the remedy throughout an aggravation can prolong or intensify it.

Evocationer,

Thanks a lot for your reply. I'm not giving him any remedy now. What should I do with Calc. Phos? I was instructed to start with this after giving my child Equisetum Hyemale.

gulayim 9 years ago
Anindya wants your feedback first before you start Calc phos.

So please wait for his response, he is in a different time zoneand if you do not hear back by tomorrow, click his name and
email him bc he may not be getting
an email alert on this thread- sometimes
that happens on this forum.

Thank you, simone717. I'll wait for Anindya's response.

Yes you need to wait for your chosen practitioner to advise you. I cannot step in and interfere as my approach is quite different and you need consistency in your treatment.

Evocationer 9 years ago
Give him two doses of Sulph 200.
1 dose = 4 tablets in some water

1st dose on day 1 morning
2nd dose on day 2 morning

please report on fourth day

anindya384 9 years ago
Thank you. I don't have sulph 200 so I need to order again. What other remedies do you think I may need so that I can order them alltogether?
The local store has Sulphur 6c and 30c. I wonder if I can use these instead. It takes a while to receive the remedies in the mail. Thanks again.
By the way, my son wets his pants occasionally during the day also. It's no t wet, but smelly. Maybe few drops. I don't know if it's a behavioral problem or if it's something he doesn't have control.
