Sister with Rheumatoid Arthritis; needs help ASAP!

My sister is 34 years old. Developed symptoms of RA (severe/acute episode symptoms of inflammation and pain in virtually all of her major joints. The worst have been in her hands/wrists and knees. She has been unable to work and has tried a variety of anti-inflammatory drugs as well as steroids like Prednisone. Side effects were intense, but she did have a bit of relief.

She cannot afford to see a homeopath, but we have tried Rhus Tox 1m - wet and dry dose - 5x/day with Hypericum 200C twice a day. She has been doing this for a week. No sign of improvement.

She is ready to throw in the towel because she cannot function. Swelling worse in morning, joints in hands barely able to move. Better with cold and movement.

She has eliminated dairy and gluten from her diet as well.

Any guidance on a remedy for her is much appreciated!

My husband tries to be supportive, but is way over extended as he works 7 days a week. He can be a tough one to live with. He is stressed and doesn't have much patience. He has however been very helpful during this time when i am not at my best. We have our battles but i love him.

Modalities are closer to BRYONIA so I guess she must try it instead of Rhus Tox. Also, for a physical problem, such a high potency remedy may not be effective even if its the right remedy.

I would suggest her to stop Rhus Tox, wait for a few days and then start taking BRYONIA 30C every four hours initially for 2 to 3 days. If this works, a sustained dosage may be suggested later.

Please note, Bryonia and Rhus are NOT to be taken together.

Hi there,
She has been taking it for about a week now. No real improvement. She sent a summary to me (below) and is contemplating revisiting conventional medicines right away. if any additional remedies come to mind, let me know. Thank you!!

Pain in both hands when turning doorknobs, pain in both shoulders pain in both knees and constant pain on the top of my right foot below my ankle and slight pain in my right. Have been taking bryonia 4 tablets 4 times a day for 5 days. I started back on Medrol today.

Did she ever have a blood work done for excess urea. I suggest a thorough test should be carried out to suggest the right remedy.

LEDUM PALUSTRE 30C around 4 times a day for a week and come back with the changes. This remedy is good for gouty pains and swellings in small joints. The modalities also match. You must try this.

No bloodwork done for urea. Will have her try this. She is back on steroids and pain meds--will these interfere?

Yes, steroids will interfere with homeo remedies. That's because homeo remedies need the response of the vitality that is not assisted by any external chemical agents or catalysts.

If she agrees to try out LEDUM, she must stop steroids. Also, let her try for a week, no less.
