The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Please help with persistent red eyes.

About five days ago, I had not slept well and exerted myself to wake up to go to work. In the evening I started getting an itch in my left eye. I washed with solution made by dissolving one Argentum Nitricum 30 pill in drinking water. It seemed to get better after washing but after sometime the condition persisted and the white part of the eye was getting very red. I washed three times that day and the next. I also took Argentum Nitricum 30 internally on the second day. I could not notice any improvement. Then I repertorized and found that Natrum Mur suited my condition. I had only 200 available so took that. There seems to be a slight improvement but not significant. I get the urge to itch the eye frequently and it worsens when I do. Since yesterday, I am getting itchiness in the right eye also and it is also getting red but much less than the left eye. I also started using Cineraria Maritima eye drops since two days in the morning and night. It does provide some relief but my condition is persisting and as noted seems to be progressing to the right eye. I should note that the itching is mainly in the corners of the eye and the edge of the eyelids also close to the corners.

I need to add that before taking Nat Mur, the area above the left upper jaw between the cheekbone and ear was feeling hard with pain and slight swelling. After Nat Mur, this improved a bit but still remains.

Perhaps relevant to this is that since about six months, my eyes itch if I eat anything with sugar in it and some fruits like raisins. Honey does not cause itching. I have been avoiding sweets mostly due to this.

Vision in left eye has also deteriorated. Actually, the vision problems started sometime ago. I am 41 and have been nearsighted since I was 14 years old. A few weeks ago, I got my eyes checked and my glasses number had gone from -3.5 in the left eye to -6. But I have not yet changed my glasses. It seems worse now as anything more than a few inches from my left eye is blurred when I am not wearing my glasses (of -3.5).

I also have a slight cough that is worse in the morning with light greenish expectoration. Also pain in the chest center of the right area that has been on and off for the past year or so. I also have had excessive tears in both my eyes for more than a year now.

A seemingly unrelated thing happened just a day before this started. I had an alternate pair of glasses that I had which I have not used much in the past. I used that for a day and this was one day prior to when the itchiness and redness started.

I only use homeopathy and would appreciate if anyone can guide me in the current situation.
