Schi-affective disorder

My son has been taking 4 pellets of Baryta Carbonica at first 200cc(which wasn't very effective), and now 1 ml of the same remedy. His behavior are improving (eg. his phobias are now gone). How often should he take it? As needed, once a month, etc., because some on his behaviors persist. Also, his phsychiatrist has been reducing his dosage of Risperdone, but has stopped because she has not noticed any more improvement. He also take Depakote.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Baryta Carb is a slow acting remedy. You are now seeing the effects of baryta carb 200 pellets he has taken earlier. There is no point in believing that a large dose can produce more results than a small dose in homeopathy? What matters is the potency and the dosing pattern. You have given him how many doses of Baryta Carb till date? Since how long he has been given the remedy?

Hi Kadwa,
So all remedies are different?
I have tried a couple of remedies for sleep, and was told to take them as needed.

Jesse has been taking the remedy about once a month. Jesse took 200 cc in August. He had a violent episode in September so his potency was changed to 1 ml which he took in October. The remedy was not given again, but when ADHD increased and started hearing voices, the 200 cc were given to him in December. What is your opinion on the frequency and dose? How can I be sure that this is the right remedy for him?

angelfatima last decade
Instead of 200 CC, you should say 200 C. Similarly, instead of 1 ml, it should be 1M. 1M is a higher potency than 200C.
Baryta Carb is a deep acting remedy for mentally dwarfish children. It is slow in action and may take time to show it's results.

It is very difficult to comment on the correctness of remedy on the basis of scanty details that have been provided. If the remedy has been helping him, it is the right remedy. There is nothing wrong with repeating the remedy every month 'on need'.

Thank you Kadwa. I have learned about remedies is that when you give them when they are not needed, they can cause the very symptoms they are trying to heal. Can this happen with this remedy? What other info do you need from me?

angelfatima last decade
This is called as remedy proving. The symptom of the remedy appears in the patient which he didn't have earlier. This happens if the remedy is repeated often.

Please write a long essay on your son providing the following details..
his attitude towards life
his behavior at home and outside
his thermal preference like he prefers hot surroundings or cold surroundings.
his sleep
his bowel movements
your state when he was in your womb for 9 months.

Really? The symptoms that he has are nothing new, so this means they are from his disorder and not the remedy? Can you think of an example for this particular remedy?

1. His attitude towards life is improving. He is maturing, becoming thoughtful(not so self-centered). He still lacks direction, but is attending Community College. He likes having and making friends, but has been rejected many times do to his odd behaviors. He has developed another interest (football)whereas he never cared about doing anything except play Yuigio, video games, watch a movie occasionally.

2. Presently, his behavior at home is different than on the outside. He maintains and controls his behavior publicly but not at home. At home he is verbally aggressive and disrespectful at times. He talks to the cat in sexual tones but he says he is not aware that it's sexual. It's weird, but he has never stopped. He is respecting my boundries and feelings more now. When the medications failed, he sometimes would batter me. He's been hospitalized 14 times since age 14. He is now 19. He also battered a male tenant that was renting a room in my home who tried to stop him. Jesse was arrested. He was ordered to first live at a board and care and now he's more stable so he is living at a room and board. He was ordered by the court to live there till May 31st.

3. He prefers to eat his food cold, but he has never voiced a preference for either hot or cold weather.

4. When medicated, he sleeps from 9 pm to 9 am. Without it, he's awake 24/7.

5. Irregular BM due to diet at board and care. He takes Reishi to help detoxify his liver. At home he likes eating raw food. I'm a vegen/vegetarian and he does not eat meat while visiting. He loves seafood.

9. I was anxious about giving birth to Jesse as his father is bipolar and we had serious marital problems. Jesse was unplanned and I did not want him. I am sure my fears and attitude effected him. He was born and still has sweaty palms and feet. His birth was very painful, not like my others.

i think that you should continue with this remedy for few months. You should give him a dose of the remedy at long intervals i.e. 1-2 months. The dose may be given if his improvement has come to a standstill and not otherwise. Later we may think of another remedy depending on his future state.

Jesse has now been taking it for
7 months. How much longer?

His psychiatrist stopped reducing his medication because of some of his behaviors and because he was no longer taking naps in the afternoon. Is this what you mean by 'standstill'.

angelfatima last decade
Please give him a dose of Baryta Carb 1M and see how he responds in next one month.

Thank you. I 'll give it to him today.

Is it a good idea to give Jesse the remedy in water, as David recommends? He gave me this to read:

Yes.

Hi Kadwa,

When I give Jesse the remedy, should it be the same recipe/way given by David? Jesse have been taking it for almost 8 months. Hit the bottle twice, then one drop in 1/2 cup of water, take only 1 teas.?

angelfatima last decade
Yes. This is a nice method.

Hi Kadwa,

A week ago I gave Jesse the remedy in water like David recommended by first striking it twice against my hand. Jesse said he did not notice a change in his depression, didn't feel like goign to school so this Friday I hit the remedy 4 times against my hand and gave it to him.

Is he now taking it correctly?

If this time it doesn't help, we will explore another remedy.

This Saturday, His psychiatrist began weaning him off depakote because he was becoming jaundiced and had some abnormalities in his blood work.
So far, he seems to be laughing inappropriately. I am concerned about his mood swings.

How long should we wait before we see results of this latest dose in the remedy? Should it help him balance his moods?

angelfatima last decade
Please give him Nux Vomica 30 at bed time for 3 days and see how that affects.
This is expected to help his jaundice and may also help in his withdrawal symptoms.

kadwa last decade
Should it be given dry or wet? If dry, how many pellets?
If wet, is it one teas. for 3 days?

angelfatima last decade
Wet. One tsp for 3 days.

kadwa last decade
Dissolve 4 pellets?

angelfatima last decade
Yes. 4 pellets. Even one will do. But 4 will do too.

Thanks. I visited him yesterday, and he is still acting silly and giddy around me, but restrains himself when around the other men in the home. He would not go to school this week. Are these withrawal symptoms from the Depakote or a lack of mood control? Will this remedy help stabalize him?

angelfatima last decade
Thank you. Jesse's psychiatrist is also doing the same thing. She only had to take him off the Depakote because of the side effects, and she does the same with the Risperadone. It will be about 2 years before he has been completely weaned off the Risperadone, unless he becomes sick with some life-threatening side effect, she will stop the Risperadone quickly. My lack of undestanding of homeopathy and mental illness and balancing both is what stresses me. Jesse is dangerous when he is in mania.

angelfatima last decade
I agree, leave them on the medication until it is clear the homoeopathy is working. Most of us are not in a position to protect or restrain a patient with mental health issues such as mania, and so unfortunately we must rely on the suppressive medicines until we can reduce the cause of the problem.
