acne for last 12 years. please help.

Hi! I am Reshmi. I am 26 yrs old now. I have acne since I was 14 yrs old. It never went away completely. Currently I am using Benzoyl Peroxide(2.5%) and Cetaphil moisturizer. It works well for me. I rarely have one or two acne. But I know very well it is no cure. It just makes an bacteria unfriendly environment on my face. As soon as i stop using it. acne starts again. Please help.

Some info-

1. I don't have constipation.
2. I sleep well and sound.
3. I love to eat. but don't eat much junk food. I don't like chocolate much but I do like coffee.
4. I have acne only on my face. specially on my cheeks and chin. I rarely get one/two on my forehead and on sides of my nose.
5. I have almost regular mense. But mense never affects my acne. My acne always leaves mark and sometimes light scar. I use sandalwood paste on marks to get rid of them.
6. I am slim(but not thin). At 5 ft 1 inch, I weigh 53 kg.
7. I wash my face two times a day with mild facewash. I sweat a bit excess. I think heat sometimes but not always makes my acne worse.

Please help and let me know if I can give more info.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
One more thing I forgot to mention that I have very oily skin.

You probably might wanna ask an expert. Why don't you ask the resident beautician at Face Beautie on facebook? Her name is Angie and she's nice. Her place is in Clementi. She'll probably be able to advise you.

Look for the page Face Beautie

The remedy which has helped many is Arnica 6c in the Wet dose taken twice daily and also applied directly on the face as often as is possible to keep the lesions damp.

The Wet dose of any Homeopathic remedy is made as follows:

Order the remedy in a 5ml Alcohol pack aka Liquid Dilution in a bottle with a dropper arrangement.
Get a 500ml bottle of Spring Water from the nearest supermarket.
Pour out about 3cm of water from the bottle to leave some airspace.
Insert 3 drops of the remedy into the bottle and shake it hard to produce bubbles. This is homeopathic succussion and must be done every time before a capful of the bottle which is the dose is taken as directed.

Please post your response to the Arnica therapy in a week.

Dear Reshmi,

Thanks for the information. Benzoyl at 2.5 is used by docotrs to control the acne. But it is very strong on your soft skin. This only supress the acne from external application.

You need to stop the application of Benzoyl and cetaphil. Once the Acne pops up do update me. Dont pick or squeeze the acne. Time being restrict taking tomuch of sweets.

Update me after five days. If there is any acne aggrevation dont panic, keep me updated. Make sure you dont apply Benzoyl during this period.

Nikkie.

Dear Reshmi26,

During this five days period, You need to observe any new acne surfacing on your face. Like, How much time it took to move up, for how long it was there on your skin ( Healing), what was the change in the appearance of the acne during its life cycle.

Dietry/Health Tips:

1) 2-3 glasses on slightly warm water first thing in the morning. OR
1)Half lemon and honey in the slightly warm water (2-3 glass water).

2) Dont not wash your face with soap, you can use face wash as and when required. You should always pat dry your wet face with soft towel instead of rubbing.

3) Time being avoid applying any cream or mosturiser on your face.

4) Avoid aeriated drinks or oily snacks or junk stuff.

5) Make sure you consume atleast one litre of water till the clock hits 12:00 pm :-).

6) Try fruits/salads if you feel hungry in between...

7) Please do some exercise or any physical work which can bring sweat.

Pease get hold of following medicine:

1) Echinacea Q (Mother Tincture).

Please do update me.

Regards,
Nikkie.
