This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
There are two methods of dosing that are followed

1. The doses are given thrice a day every day until there is substantial improvement in symptoms.

2. Doses are given thrice a day for one or two days and then stopped. Symptoms are observed for the next 10-15 days and an appropriate action is taken only after 10-15 days.

In acute problems the first method may be followed and in chronic problems second method. The first method is valid if the there is high level of confidence that the remedy selection is correct.

Please read my post on the subject: http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/212635/

If sufficient care is taken viz., not eating/ drinking for one hour before and after taking the remedy, avoiding exposure to strong odors, coffee, etc., single dose of well indicated remedy works as good as 3 doses over a couple of days (which is ref to as unit dose).
