Sprained collateral knee Ligament

Ive sprained my collateral knee ligament from running. It is very painful and I dont want to take too much of Ibuprufen. Any suggestions as to what i can take?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
please take the remedies daily in the following manner until there is relief.

rhus tox 30c
after 2 hours arnica 30c
after 2 hours rhus tox 30c
after 2 hours arnica 30c
after 2 hours rhus tox 30c
after 2 hours arnica 30c

One dose means
If the medicine is in pills form 4 pills. Don't touch pills with hand. Use cap of bottle to take pills.
If the medicine is in liquid dilution form, 3-4 drops in some 20 ml water. Sip up slowly.

Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

Please read my posts on the breathing exercises called as Anulom Vilom Pranayam and Kapalbhati Pranayam by following the links given below. Please practise these pranayams regularly for half an hour preferably in a garden early in the morning. You may practise at any other convenient time but not within 4 hours after meals. You may have meals after 15 minutes when you finish these exercises. These exercises should impart strength to your muscular, skeletal and nervous systems.

Thanks so much for your reply. Ill buy the tissue salts today. How long do you think it will take for recovery of this sprained ligament? Also, is there a tissue salt I can take for magnesium deficiency?
I used to do the pranayam breathing exercises you mentioned regularly but have become impatient. Ill try and get into a routine of doing them again. Its freezing here at the moment so Ill just do them in a warm room in the house!

Allopaths generally suggest supplements for iron, magnesium etc of which there is deficincy in the body. But here the problem is not of providing the supplements, as all these nutrients, micro-nutrients and minerals are there in the normal food we take. The problem is with the assimilation. Indicated homeopathic remedy and 'regular' breathing exercises improve the assimilation part.
Tissue salts act on homeopathic principles and their physiological contents of the minerals/salts after which they are named are pathologically insignificant.
Magnesia Phosphorica is indicated where the pain is relieved by pressure. Looking at your past threads it appears that you suffer from such pain, so you can take magnesia phosphorica 6x.

So you have to take 2 pellets each of the following tissue salts thrice a day at a gap of 4 hours.
cal phos 6x
kali phos 6x
mag phos 6x

You should get relief from rhus-arnica within 2-3 days.

In my opinion your complaint of insomnia during menses and symptoms of magnesium deficiency can be helped by Divya Pharmacy's Stri Rasayan Vati, Ashokarishta and Chandraprabha Vati. You can arrange these medicines from India. The best solution is to do pranayam regularly over a long period of time.
Similarly while doing pranayam efforts should be made to do kapalbhati without break break for minimum 5-10 minutes. A good sadhak does it without break for 30 minutes. The same applies to Anulom Vilom Pranayam.

Im based in the UK so its very difficult for me to get the ayurvedic medicines. Any homeopathic alternatives I could take?

Let the rhus-arnica do it's work first, then we will think about other remedies. Tissue salts should help here also. In the meanwhile you can ask your relatives in India to send medicines by post if possible.

The rhus - arnica is working and the pain has reduced considerably. Am delighted. How long do you think I should continue the medicine? Im not completely free of pain. There is still soreness and some pain. How long before the next run I wonder! Ill purchase the tissue salts you recommended today. Did pranayam for 30mins yesterday.

You can start tissue salts and stop taking rhus-arnica when you feel that there is sunstantial relief.
Pranayam is better than running. Don't worry. Try to do pranayam without taking breaks and you may raise it gradually to 1 hour per day. This will result in reduced (but more refreshing) sleep and there won't be any effective time loss.

All the better. Ill run as well as do pranayam. Think Ill take the Arnice-rhus for another few more days till Im pain free. :)

The pain is still there unfortunately. I have had to start Ibuprufen. Any suggestions? ive even started the tissue salts.

I wasnt running to catch a train or anything....it was rather running as a sport. So should I take Arnica, Bryonia, Ledum, Rhus t and Ruta? do you mean the whole combination?

I might try Argentum in case the ligament is damaged. It has been more than 3 weeks that Ive had this problem.

No need to mix them all. All those mentioned above are capable of removing discomfort within few days, provided indicated.
Most probably, ligaments are damaged and you need to use Argentum for some time. Hope it will help you.

After taking all the prescribed medication regularly, I can say that I still feel the pain. Its not as bad of course but it has taken more than 6 weeks for the pain to reduce inspite of taking the medication. Wonder if the medicine suited me or not. Is there a homeopathic anti inflammatory that athletes can take for regular running? Am taking MSM powder and Glucosamine reguarly as well.

If your pains inrease after movements you should take three doses of Bryonia 30c at a gap of 4 hours for 2 days. That should be followed with tissue salts for next 10 days.
