Hindu Sadhu seeking help
I have started my new life as a sage recently. But i am frightened after hearing the stories about those who have lost their position surrendering to physical need. I do not want such a fate. Can anyone suggest me any homeopathic medicine which, taken once, will make me impotant? I do not have the way to continue a madication as i have to live under strict rule.Sadhu on 2009-09-18

Please be clear about the difference between impotence and celibacy. A person who is impotent cannot get erection and perform other sexual acts to satisfy his sexual desires. Please note that he is not able to get rid of his sexual desires.
A true celibate on the other hand sees the all pervading concsiousness everywhere and thus understands the futility of petty sexual pleasures. This state can be attained by him by giving status of Mother, Sister and Daughter to all ladies that he comes across. For this to happen naturally such a recluse should do pranayam regularly 2 hours a day. One hour in the morning and one in the evening.
Please read my posts on pranayam to understand the method. Please read my posts on the breathing exercises called as Anulom Vilom Pranayam and Kapalbhati Pranayam by following the links given below. Please practise these pranayams regularly 2 hours daily.

Dear Sir, thank you for your suggestion. You thought about my problem - i am thankful to you. I have started practicing pranayam as per your guidance. But my actual concern is, you may have heard, sometimes Sadhus face a sudden attack of high libido....As a 'test'.....If he boasts about celibacy. No one knows what lies in the future - pranayam is a slow process - i want a coplete protection - if i becone impotant, there will be no accidental chance to do anything wrong. Please help me.

mr sadu pl donot take otherwise what is the use to suppress urge pl follow this path naturally if you think that impotency can lead to celibacy you are wrong totally.pl donot think negative at the start pl think all ladies your mothers daughters and sisters. have faith in god and go ahead

I just read your posting. kadwa has given a very good breathing exercise, though the name given is Pranayam. It is good and perhaps harmless. I am a person learning Yoga for about two decades!! I mean it.
Initially I was non-plussed to see your first posting giving contradictory pictures of sage and libido, but understood the meaning after reading the second posting by you. PLEASE NOTE THAT PRANAYAM FOR TWO HOURS A DAY AND INDULGENCE CAN DRIVE A PERSON IMBECILE. It happens at the earliest, and for sure it happens !

Yoga with petty targets, is like using an atom bomb to kill a mosquito. It is to achieve the highest, whence there is nothing left to achieve. kadwa has beautifully written as 'seeing the all pervading consciousness everywhere'. This is the ultimate goal. When this happens, who are you other than the all pervading consciousness? You become the immortal happiness, unaffected by the passage of time.. You will know no worry, anxiety, fear.. None next to you... All pervading Bliss!!!
You have written Hindu Sadhu! You have these things well written in our scriptures.. It is not possible to conquer either sex or Ego that easily. It is the thought that you have taken 'sanyasa' that brings you the vulnerability. When you realize that you are a sexless Atman, you get rid of this.. But is it that easy?
I think it is not. A great support is required for this conquest. It is usually in the form of a Guru or if you are a strong willed person, God himself. Surrender yourself to this great force and do not evaluate yourself in the middle. Do not look back. Follow the master (God or Guru) with full faith and complete surrender. You will conquer everything, not only sexual desire, all the desires, without any exclusion!! This is for sure

The endocrine system that triggers sexual passions is the most difficult one to manage. Therefore in our culture there is a concept of Grihastha Ashram. Where a person while fulfiling his sexual desires demonstrates restraint and contentment by practising monogamy, he also provides successors to whatever knowledge and assets he has and (theoretically he should) he offers his own services and services of his family to the society whenever the ocassion demands.
You have opted for a life of a recluse. You have put on saffron robes but your mind is full of desires like any other person. And generally when mind is repressed it tends to work in the exactly opposite way.
Please continue with the Breathing Exercises regularly. Vipassana Meditation is also a very good method for calming down mind.
But i would advise you to do the following
1. Don't meet any lady when you are alone.
2. Don't allow anybody to garland you. Allow them to offer only bouques.
3. Whenever your desires are inflamed by looking at the sexual organs of any woman, tell your mind that these are means of procreation and not entertainment. Remember your mother at that time.
Please take a single dose (only one day, not daily) of Staphysagria 200c and report back after 15 days.
Please follow homeo restrictions like no coffee, no raw onion/garlic, no strong perfumes, don't eat or drink anything within 30 minutes before or after taking medicine.

There is no scope to be offended. Your suggestions are appropriate and truely recomendable. I will definitely follow those.
You are doing a wonderful job by treating sufferers honestly and free of cost. Not every doctor do the same. By the law of nature, you will definitely get the reward.
As an explanation, i am saying some words. I am not in a cave but inside a modern ashram. I asked those remedies out of fear of loosing the control. I am not thinking about women. If any accident happens, it will be suddenly. I am a human so i may mistake. In this world, i am new. Pranayam and sadhan will make me reluctent but it takes time. If you have a pen only then you can use it. That is why i had asked that question. To stay safe.

The Bach Flower Remedy 'Cherry Plum' if taken regularly should help you. You have expressed a fear of losing control - this is addressed by the above remedy.
Whenever a person is afraid that he/she may lose control (or already have lost control) of their voluntary bodily functions, thoughts, emotions etc), Cherry Plum is indicated.
