I've been using the Hyland's formula called Restful Legs. It contains ARS 12x, PULS, RHUS, LYC, SUL (all 6x) and ZINC 12x. It works fairly well, but I have to take it again the next day. Should I stop taking this and simply try the arnica 30? (I assume you mean arnica montana?)

I've noticed a definite improvement in my left arm/shoulder after only 4 days of taking the arnica. I suspected a possible injury. The only problem was that there was NO pain. There was just a strange feeling that was very hard to describe. It felt like I wanted to favor my arm by holding it in a certain position, like hanging straight down. It also felt as if the arm were not properly attached. I am, however, still experiencing the hypnic jerks just as I'm about to doze off. I also want to fidget with my feet. I keep wanting to move them back and forth and side to side, so much that my ankles sometimes pop. Sometimes the hypnic jerking occurs a the ankles making my feet jerk upward. It's usually just one jerk.

I have restless leg syndrome. It is a disease caused by, like Parkinsons, too little dopamine in a part of the brain. Movement increases dopamine, which is why we have the urge to move. Raising the knees while in the fetal position will raise dopamine, as will elevating the head, but dont bend it, elevate the back and head while lying so its one straight line so as to not cedcrase circulation.

But by far , by far the best treatment is diet.I ate each food onw at a time on an empty stomach to see which ones lowered my sense of pleasure, or dopamine in my brain and if it did I stopped eating it. It has made it so I barely have symptoms. BUT its tough. You have to be a vegan vegetarian, except for chicken, and not have a drop of soy, soy oilk, safflower oil, sunflower oil, canola oil, and just a very little amount of omega 9, in olive oil or nuts, keep to a minimum olives or nuts, and no sees except flax, and instead use flax oil, and red palm oil and certain brands of grapeseed oil, Salute is one of them. Some of them rob us of dopamine, about half. You have to read every label to be able to avoid all these things. One tiny drop of soy oil will reduce your dopamine for 6 hurs. Also avoid most spices, tumeric, allspice, nutmeg, thyme, but you can have oregano, salt and pepper of course,

Why does this diet raise dopamine. Because all that we eat will be similar in fatty acid content to what we evolved eating in the jungle of Africa. Our genes are thus familiar with these types of fats. WHen we introduce one we are not used to , as in soy , safflowerr, cows etc, our genes rebel, when that fat gets into our brains , as it does.

You could do that diet for a week and then add foods to it one at a time and see what you can get away with and still keep your symboms at near zero.

THere is a further payoff thought. All day you feel like you are on a high, you have so much dopamine in other parts of your brain from this diet. You feel a lilghtness in your brain and a constant sense of pleasure. THis is the way we were designed to feel and I guess Im the only one who has experienced it fully. I actually am writing this knowing that now one will try this diet since one has to be so careful. BUt I beleive it is the healthiest diet humans can eat, and I do so without the chicken. But the cholesterol gets so low it is so low in saturated fat that my reading couild not even be measured , below 80. and thats why I supplemented red palm oil from Africa , for its saturated fat, and because I eat no olive or nuts, I lacked omega 9 and so that toois in a tablespoon a day of red palm oil. BUt that oil has the benefit of containing tocotrienols, a form of vitamin E that is essenctial that none of us gets in any other food, the tocotrienols in wheat etc are not adequate as I took those in a pill form and I was not pleased.

OK lets say you have restless leg syndrome and dont want to alter your whole diet like I jsut wrote to get maximum dopamine. THe minor changes I would suggest , in addition to what I said about raising kness and head while on our back, so you can go to sleep is to eat the two foods that raise dopamine the most. One tablespoon of flax oil a day , the refridgerated type, and just before trying to go to sleep, eating some black- berries , doesnt take many. As soon ss they hit the blood stread they will raise your dopamine a lot , until they are fully digested, about an hour, due to their pigments. You can guy them frozen for cheap. If they dont sell them there, you can use concord grapes , black grapes, or blueberries instead but I dont because their extreme sweetness raises insulin levels which has bad effects on the body and even makes my brain feel a little off. BUt the pigments raise dopamine. You can add lemon juice to them to eliminate that sweetness and avoiding that problem.

And the most important things to totally eliminate are red meat, soy, and safflower and canola oil and ease up on nuts and olive oil if you eat a lot of that, if you wanted to try something simple. Ok throw out the tumeric too, that is death on dopamine

i just experienced some stomach contractions while lying down just when I was about to doze off. it always happens then. i can be lying down just resting and nothing happens, but when i start to doze - wham! - there it is, one of those jerks. it can be in my legs, ankles, shoulders, hands, even my stomach. every time i look up a remedy for this i always come across ARS. this whole thing feels a little scary to me. i wish i could find a protocol to effectively address it.
