Insomnia

Hi I am 25 years old and I have had pretty severe insomnia for the past 2 or 3 years which has in the past even led to suicidal thoughts sometimes.
It doesn’t seem to be the classical insomnia type as I can relax good- both physically and mentally.
But even so the body cannot fall asleep. I have tried natural sleep aids which only work sometimes and only give temporary relive, in addition I’ve tried almost anything you could think of.

I may sleep up to 8 hours sometimes but often interrupted and my sleep isn’t very deep and I remain half conscious and easily wake up.
When I overeat at nighttime I can sometimes fall asleep faster then on an empty stomach.
Raw food like raw milk or fruits etc… keeps me awake longer while if I eat cooked food like bread or something I fall asleep a little easier.
I seem to fall asleep only once I am extremely tired, then in the morning I wake up far before I have rested enough. So it seems that the body cannot fall asleep unless it absolutely has to.
I believe that my adrenalin glands are weak, and my insomnia might have something to do with that.
I have been severely deficient in magnesium a few years ago, but have been taking magnesium supplements for almost 2 years now.

Anymore information I should give?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks for your answer,

I read up on “Agrimony” would this really be fit for me? My comments are in brackets:

'For those putting on a brave face when inwardly in turmoil and worried. ( I do not have any big worries, and no big emotional problems either) Bottling things up, sometimes exploding in anger, unable to express their feelings when necessary (seems true to an extend I do feel like it is better most of the time to resolve things on my own without needing to share the problems as I don’t think people would understand anyways), liking to keep the peace, at much cost to themselves (true sometimes). They may be restless at night, or suffer throat problems. Brings peace and an ability to communicate happily.( I can relax just fine emotionally and physically, but cant fall asleep)
Dr Bach described his Agrimony Flower Remedy as:-
“The jovial, cheerful, humorous people (NOT me at all, I’m neither a jovial nor depressed person) who love peace and are distressed by argument or quarrel, to avoid which they will agree to give up much (more or less correct). Though generally they have troubles and are tormented and restless and worried in mind or in body, they hide their cares behind their humour and jesting and are considered very good friends to know. (Does not fit me) They often take alcohol or drugs in excess, to stimulate themselves and help themselves bear their trials with cheerfulness. (Does not fit me at all)'

What do others think?
Most people think insomnia comes from some kind of emotional or mental issue but as I already said I don’t have those problems I feel that my insomnia is purely a physical symptom, and my guess would be that there is either too much physical stress or that my adrenalins are too weak to cope with it.

Anyone else any suggestions?

Thanks.
