The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Depression, lack of interest in things, bad memory, dry skin

Hello.
I am seeking help and advice on homoeopathic remedies for my actual state of mind and body, which in addition to everything, gives me and extra stress and worry.
For about 2 years I am feeling depressed, lonely (married 3 years ago and moved to UK), feeling I have lost my interest in many everyday activities, in meeting people, making friends. Lost a big dose of patience with others and with myself. My memory seems worse, as I could not remember 2 lines of a song I liked.
It seems very unusual for me and it's really worrying me especially now that I have a 2 year old enchanting daughter.
For the past 6 months I have a very strange feeling of thirst and dry skin (hands and feet), especially in the evening, and cannot go to sleep without having water and cream at hand to moisturise my hands and feet. Even if I drink water, it only seems to help for a short while.
And, something I consider important is the fact that there is a lot of stress I have from the relationship with my husband, starting from small arguments, ending up with despair and wish to separate. I am terrorised by his drinking. But on the other side, when all is well in our home, I don't have the smallest thought of separation. But
I am worrying a lot about us and our future and financial situation... I know that worrying doesn't help to resolve these problems.

Physically, I gained about 10 kg during pregnancy which I never managed to lose since then. I have mild acne. Feeling no energy for doing things... I did not do any exercise due to lack of time.

Would anyone be able ho help me with practical homoeopathic advice? I tried to read and decide what's best for me, but I only got more confused. (Probably another symptom)

Thank you very much in advance for your help.

From what I gather your symptoms match that of Pho.ac. (Effects of grief) Have you ever had this feeling that you are rising in thin air or being elevated ? Do you have the longing to go home?

Hi All,
I will try to answer to your questions to my best.

1. Describe your main suffering? – I feel sad, isolated, unfulfilled, poor self-esteem, lack of interest, don’t know where my memory is and where my thoughts are exactly, often tired.
2. What other physical sufferings do you have in your body? – The physical problems I have are a strange head ache in the back of the head, going down to the neck and shoulders. It feels like a hot pressure and tension, & my head feels quite heavy & like a ball. The other thing which happens to me quite often is the earlier described sensation of thirst and dry skin in the evening when I’m tired. (Had a blood test which gave very good results and doctor said that diabetes is out of question).

3. What mental sufferings / feelings do you have associated with your physical sufferings? I get confused in my thoughts and easily irritated, and I feel like I don’t want anything, and I do a great effort to iron in the evening etc.

4. What exactly do you feel when you are at your worst? Exhausted, lack of passion or interest, wish to be alone.

5. When did it all start? Can you connect it to any past event or disease? - No special events apart from more and more problematic relationship with my husband who doesn’t know what he wants, and who is quite careless emotionally speaking….

6. Which time of the day you are worst? Evenings.

7. What are the things which aggravate your suffering and which are those which ameliorate the same? – Aggravating is when I am doing a boring job at work. Aggravating physically is the draft and wind. Noise, tension in relationship – are aggravating. I feel better when I am left alone (happens quite rarely), feel better after soaking in a bath, listening to music, doing physical exercise, change the atmosphere, go outside, for a walk, or just have a beer. Head ache doesn’t go, but I feel it less tense and the pain a bit easier.

8. Do your think your sufferings have relation to any external stimuli (like, change of place) or any internal biological changes in the body, like, menses (in females)? - I think it comes from a tense relationship with my husband in a foreign country where I have no friends and practically nobody to lean on.

9. When do you feel better, during hot weather or cold weather, humid or dry weather?
I feel better on warm weather, hot doesn’t bother me much. I don’t like cold weather. And it doesn’t really bother me much whether it’s dry or humid.

10. Describe your general mental set up? - I am not very moody, not arrogant, I am agreeable, changeable. I get nervous and irritated in relationship to close family members, and I do react. I am a bit suspicious and jealous possibly and I am easily offended, I am quiet, and rarely argue in general, except for my husband.

- How do you feel before or during a thunderstorm? I feel ok, did not notice any problems with it. Probably have a slight rheumatic pain in legs… but nothing else.

- Do you like being consoled during your tough times? Yes, I need consolation and knowing that there is a shoulder I can put my head on.

- Are you sensitive to external stimuli like smell, noise, light etc? I am sensitive to smell and noise mostly sensitive when tired, and not really bothered by light.
- Do you have any typical habit or gesture like nail biting, causeless
weeping, talking to one self etc? - Not really. What I noticed myself doing is talking in my mind to myself or to somebody whom I want to console or arguing with somebody who upset me. I have bad habits of smoking 15 rollups/day and 3-4 cups of coffee.
- How do you feel about your friends, family, your children and especially your husband / wife? - I feel I lost what was most important for a relationship with my family and friends. Isolated from family & friends. Regarding my husband – I feel quite disappointed and unhappy. My child is the only happiness I have but I don’t get much time to spend with her because I am working full time.

11. What are your fears and do you dream of any situation repeatedly? I did not have any repeated dreams as far as I can remember lately. When I was a child I had several times a dream about me with other unknown people in a forest, looking for something, I don’t know what, and I found a well out of which a man all covered in mud and bad smelling was coming to me. My fears are regarding the future relation with my husband and the finances. I worry a lot.

12. What do you crave for in food items and what are your aversions? - Aversion to brussel sprouts. Sometimes crave for chocolate, and for unhealthy food, reach in fat like French fries with fried eggs and fried sausages or something like that as much as possible 

13. How is your thirst: Less, Normal or Excessive? During the day I almost felt no thirst until about 5 months ago. I have times during the day when I am very thirsty and excessively thirsty in the evenings, nights.

14. How if your hunger: Less, Normal or Excessive? - I need to eat when I am hungry. Cannot wait as others do, not even 10 minutes sometimes. So it is probably excessive twice a day.

15. Is there any kind of food which your body can’t stand? - No.

16. Is your sweat normal or less or more? Where does it sweat more: Head, Trunk or Limbs? – It is normal, limbs.

17. How is your bowel movement and stool type? 1 every 2or3 days, notmal.

18. How well do you sleep? Do you have a particular posture of sleeping? Difficulty falling asleep and prefer on the right.

19. Do you think you are able to satisfy your sexual desires in general? I would be able if the ‘partner’ would be available, my husband works nights only (15/month) and in rest mostly tired.

20. What peculiar or strange sensation do you have in any part of your body at times? Do you sometimes feel ‘ as if…..’ in some part of the body? – I feel as if I would like to have the back neck taken out of my body when I have the tension in that area. The same with the hands and feet.

21. What medications have been taken earlier by you to treat the diseases and do you have any particular symptom surfacing after the medication? – No medication. I take Ibuprophen for the head aches.

22. What major diseases are running in your family? – Not aware of any major disease.

23. Describe, how do you look like? Describe your overall appearance. 1.63 meters, 65 kg. White. Pleasant appearance, not striking. Light brown medium to short hair.

24. (ONLY FOR FEMALES) – I have no menstruation because I have a coil inserted 1 year ago. But still feel a discomfort once a month like it was before the periods.

---------------------------------------------

From what I gather your symptoms match that of Pho.ac. (Effects of grief) Have you ever had this feeling that you are rising in thin air or being elevated ? Do you have the longing to go home? – I never had these feelings you described above. I think I would feel better at home.

Hello,

Please take a total of 3 doses of Sepia 30C, spaced by 2 hours on a single day.

No more doses after these doses, just wait for 5 days, and then report status .

yes, sepia is the indicated remedy for you.

however, i feel since most of your problems are on the mental plane, you may need to go higher than 30c once your symptoms return.

you should get a response with sepia 30c which is an indication to you that whenever you have such symptoms, a single dose of sepia 200c or 1m is all what is required to keep you in good humour for the next few weeks !!

Thank you for your replies. I will try Sepia. Could you please tell me what amount is for 1 dose. And also, does it have any contraindications, like for driving?

Thanks,
Alla

as one dose you can take 2 to 3 drops of the remedy in some 20 ml of water.

sip the remedy slowly and let it get absorbed in your mouth.

take the doses in empty stomach and dont take any food or water for next one hour.

In case you do not have access to a liquid potency, you can use 2 pellets of Sepia 30C.

Dissolve them in 250 ml spring water, and 1 spoon from there is 1 dose. You have to take three such doses, and throw the rest of the 250 ml away.

No eating/drinking/brishing of teeth for 40 mins on either dise of each dose.

Hi Rishimba and Sameervermani

I am back to report. I have taken the 3 doses as indicated on Thursday, in liquid form Sepia 30C.

I feel I have more energy and I feel a bit more positive than I used to be about myself. I have a headache, but probably from draft.

I am aware this is not going to solve all my problems immediately, and are not going to change my husband :),

But, could you please advise how should I take the medication in the future? How often... how much... when?...

Thanks a lot!
Alla

Wait for atleast 2 weeks, and when the improvement comes to a complete halt which can be in 2 to 4 weeks for most people, take a SINGLE dose of Sepia 200C.

But, right now , you must wait.

sameervermani last decade
i bet, after taking a dose of sepia 200c or 1m you would have second thoughts about changing your hubby :)

rishimba last decade
Changing of hubby I think is an ongoing question but the more you think the more difficult it gets.

Right now, a day's work and a bit of stress put me down again. Feel like taking some sepia :). Can it be addictive? Just thinking that I bought a 25ml of 30C sepia.
I was trying to read more about homoeopathy, but God knows whether I can understand how it actually works. It looks like a lot of people use these remedies on a regular basis and there are so many of them for so many symptoms that it makes me think that people can just cure everything and that's done. But it's so difficult to guess when there are more than one symptom... or they are taking the same remedy in so many different ways. I never found for example a clear indication on dosage and effects. Probably you may have more important things than answering my stupid questions at this late hour... but, I tried.

With the treatment, I am waiting 'patiently', but in case I feel down, is there anything I can do? or just wait and let my body and mind work for me? The thing is, if you know there is something that makes you feel better, you tend to use that something.

Have a good time,

'Feel like taking some sepia :). Can it be addictive?'

The correct remedy is never addictive. The improvements are permanent , and even if the symptoms return they are of lesser intensity. If the symptoms come back UNCHANGED soon after the dose, the remedy choice was not correct to begin with.

The rule about C potencies is:

All repetition of remedy is forbidden untill the improvement comes to a COMPLETE halt. Any repetition before your body has fully responded to the last dose acts as interference. This is because these medicines cure as a result of the body's response to the medicine. They just give the stumulus to the vital force in the right direction, and we must wait till your body stops responding.

Slowly and surely is the name of the game.

I hope this answers some of your questions.

So, you can take a dose of Sepia 200C in about 2 weeks from the 30C dose, but right now it is way too soon.
