Tired, sore eyes plus nasal polyps

My eyes are always feeling tired, as though I hadn't slept. I feel the urge to squeeze my eyes a lot, as though I were yawning, but more so. Or I want to rub my eyes, although that doesn't help. I have dark circles mostly between my eyes as well as underneath.

It's hard to look at my computer for any length of time; I need to close them every few seconds. They still feel sore and tired while closed, but less. I'm also photosensitive, and need sunglasses outside. Headlights from cars at night are painful.

I have had some trouble sleeping over the years, but this eye-tiredness doesn't feel like its directly from lack of sleep. Even when I wake up in the morning after a decent sleep, I can feel my eyes still being tired.

My eyes aren't very bloodshoot, as you might expect. The feeling seems to be as much around my eyes as the eyeballs themselves.

I've spent the last week taking it very easy on my eyes, hardly ever reading or looking at a computer, and sleeping or resting my eyes as much as possible, but it's no better. I get the feeling like I'm missing some nutrients or something, but I eat fairly well and take multivitamins, and for a month or so Trader Joe's 'Super Vision' supplement (Eyebright, Bilberry, Quercetin, Rutin, Carrot Juice, Lutein and Multi-Anthocyanidins).

I have had sinus congestion for many years, due primarily to dust allergies. I don't have the usual allergy symptoms though, hardly any runny nose or sneezing. The tissues in my sinuses are just inflamed. I had nasal polyps removed years ago, but that only helped for about a day, as the anti-inflammatory spray had a huge rebound effect and I was stuffed up right away and never got the clarity I expected. This has also been a big problem for me; I can't breath through my nose at all.

Since my sinuses are so close to my eyes and this is my only other major problem, it feels like they might be connected.

I would be very grateful for any ideas on how to cure this.

Thanks very much for your response, Dr. Tahira. I hope this info helps:

Male

Age: 47

polyps started about 12 years ago, eye problem gradually worsened from about 5 years ago.

I'm a type B personality, very laid back. Low energy nowadays, although I had super energy when I was in my 20's (I'm sure that's normal)

I've never tried homeopathic yet.

Frequent use of multivitamins can cause so many problems,so don't use without a specialist's recommendation.u can take multivit with a gap like twice a week.Answer a few more quetions:
1-Are u hot or chilly person?
2-What conditions(weather, food, timing, emotions, etc)aggrevate ur sufferings particularly eye problem?
3-If mucus expels, its colour and thickness?
4-Define ur emotions and behaviour?

Wow, I've never heard that about multivitamins before. It's neat to hear a new idea. I have gone for weeks or months just forgetting them over the years, but I don't recall any difference in anything.

1. I'm very cold; I wear a jacket when other people are wearing shorts and t-shirts. I can build up too much body heat quickly though, especially moving around in a confined space. I get uncomfortable in either cold or heat, but since I'm usually just sitting down, I'm usually cold. I wear a jacket all day in the office.

2. I don't notice any real correspondence to outside conditions, other than having to focus on the computer at work. Naturally, after hours of looking at the screen it hurts to keep my eyes open. 'I think I'm allergic to work' (I'm sure you've heard that one before).

3. I rarely have mucous, but when I do it's just a little, and watery.

4. I'm not emotional; essentially quiet and shy.

Thanks again for your help!
