Acute Rhematoid Arthritis
I am putting the case for my mother who severe Rhematoid Arthritis. Here are the details.Age: 59 Years
Weight - 51 Kg
Height - 5'5'
She has this desease since last 12 years.
She had been taking painkillers (some powder which had high sulfur content).
Recently she started taking alopathic for 6 months. Pain was under control. Gradually we stopped alopathic. Pain started on all joints. Following are symtoms.
Swelling of joints (specially knees)
Sprain in Calves of Legs
Cracking of Joints
Rheumatic pain all joints
Fever (99 - 101)
Worse pain at night (Sleep) after 12 AM.
Pain in Knees
Pain in Wrists
Pain in Ankle Joints
Pain in Shoulder joints
Jerking of body when sleeping.
Days are better.
We also got the blood/urine test done.
RA Factor is positive - 1.32 Dilution
ESR - 105 MM/HR
Other reports are normal.
Kindly suggest a homeopathic medicine.

26-Mar-08 Extreme pain left shoulder & left wrist (kankanana). Sudden jerk while sleeping. Less coughing. Restless night due to pain.Pain in Panjara (pain while breathing), Extreme pain in right ankle. Natrum Phos, Mag Phos, Ferrum Phose (12X)
27-Mar-08 Fever 100-101. No pain in Panjara. Less pain in right ankle, however, swelling in both ankles.Extreme pain left shoulder & left wrist (kankanana). Sleepless night due to pain. Arsenic Album (200)
28-Mar-08 Left shoulder pain decreased (no kankanana). Sleepless night due to pain. However sleepless night started after 4 AM. Arsenic Album (200)
29-Mar-08 Ars Alb-200 (1dose), Ferr Phose-30 (2-doses)
30-Mar-08 Lyco-200 3-doses (10 AM, 9 PM, 7 AM)
31-Mar-08 Slightly better in the evening till 2 AM. Sudden body jerk while sleeping. Pain started after 2 AM. Fever 99.5. Worse pain in right knee (whole leg while sleep/lying down), left wrist. New Pain (right leg finger). No medicine. Blood/Urine Test recommended. RA Factor postivie (1.32 dilution), ESR 105. Utine culture report normal.
01-Apr-08 Restless night. Pain all over, severe on left wrist and right knee. Fever in the morning 98.5. Difficult to find comfortable position. Medorrhinum 1 M (Evening 7:30 PM)
02-Apr-08 Restless night. Pain all over, severe on left wrist and right knee. Fever in the morning 98.5. Difficult to find comfortable position to sleep. No Medicine.
03-Apr-08 Severe pain whole night(may be effect of medicine). Feel as-if portion below knees are dislocated. Fever continues (100-101) No Medicine.
04-Apr-08 Night was much better than many previous nights. Could sleep whole night and no restless feeling. Fever continues 100-101. No Medicine.
05-Apr-08 Last night pain in the middle of shoulders. Fever continues 100-101. In the evening she could get up from lying position on her own. Rhus Tox -200 (2-doses) 11 AM -& 5 PM
06-Apr-08 Day was better. Could get up from lying position on her own. After 12 midnight - restless. Pain all over below 'Kamar'. Legs as-if dislocated. Feeling of hair pulled (back of the head at one point). Jerking of whole body. Sprain in calves of legs while lying down. Fever 99 in the morning
Kindly suggest something in this case.

Please narrate what causes or increases the pain and what ameliorates the pain or what actions or circum stances reduces the sufferring.

After midnight - increased the pain (restless)
After 10-11 AM feel better.
Pressing on leg calves relieves temporarily.
Keep moving postions for comfort.
Left hand is almost paralytic. Unable to move freely.
Unable to stand - too much pain.
Folding/unfolding of knees increas the pain with cracking sound.

She didn't have any other major desease. She had one mental trauma in the family and this problem started right around same time. Another correlation is - her mens cycle had stopped before this problem started. Also this problem started from feet and moved upward slowly.

Rhus-tox 200 was administered twice and then stopped why? If Rhus tox gave such a good relief why was it stopped.?

HOw is her thirst?
If she drinks is it little or more at a time or not at all?

There is no problem with touch. However she feels more pain on movement/folding of limbs (legs/hands)
Skin is very loose - looks like wrinkled on hands. Other places okay.
Most pain joints are both knees and left wrist.
Thirst is normal (neither more nor less).
She feels cold most of the time. In general doesn't like colds.
One more symptom: Fever increases in the evening and in the morning fever comes down with sweating.
