weird secondary type symptom

Hello. New here. You seem very willing to help people so I thought I would ask for some.

I have a weird symptom that is present only 'around' (sometimes before sometimes after) my cycle. It is either seborrheic dermatitis (that is what allopathic dr. says) or psoriasis. It doesn't itch. I get it is on my scalp and sometimes my face next to my nose. Here it is extremely red with thick scales. Bruning, no itching. By way of background, here are other symptoms:

Hypothyroid for 6+ years now
Currently take T3 and T4 allopathic drugs (trying to get off by way of homeopathic remedy)
Also take metformin for PCOS (Polycystic ovarian disease)
5'2', 122 pounds
fair skin
light eyes
fatigue between 3 pm and 7 pm
very light sleeper
crave travel and change in my life
crave fresh air
have difficult time maintaing the right temperature in bed
Vegatarian diet, exercise regularly
Had 2 normal pregnancies with natural births
Like spicy food, coffee and wine
Dislike custardy type textures such as flan and creme brulee
Anxious
Stable marriage and home life
Irritable a lot lately/short fuse type
difficult to lose weight--gain weight easily
very sensitive to cold
dislike windy conditions
crave sunshine
am thirsty a lot
have recently noticed an increased bloating/gas only at night before bed despite not having changed my eating habits
periods are heavy, 7 days but regular
I am 35 years old
I feel extremely sympathetic to others, cry easily at others' losses or issues

I hope that is a good start. My question about the skin condition is why would it be aorse some months than others? Why do I sometimes have it on my scalp and other times on my face? Weather doesn't seem to affect it. I am thinking hormonal, but who knows? What else could it be? In addition to this secondary symptom, I would like to get off allopathic drugs, but realize the need to treat constitution. I am definitely a tubercular miasm. Almost 100%!

Thanks for any insights.

strong family history of hypothyroid, no known issue of PCOS or SD/psoriasis. Except my sister has similar skin issue behind ears and on back of head. Some other autoimmune issues in the family: uncle with crohn's and Parkinson's, sister had a pheochromocytoma (adrenal tumor). Also, no known allergies in my family.

Despite my tsh being basically 'supressed' (mid range free T3 and low fre T4 but both within the normal range) I don't feel right on the drugs. I still have fatigue and other symptoms.

any ideas?

yes--thsi is a tuberclinium thing-----lets estaBLISH IF THERE IS ANY STRONG INDICATION FOR REEEDY SELECTION--allo meds will have affected symtpomolgy--and is to be determined which are due to usage (artficial dis-ease) and what r natual dis-ease...

how long has this complaint(skin/menses) been occuring?when (date) exactly start?what was going on in life/health history just prior?
menses association---how long the skin ailment stay? how any days before ?how many days after? how often (if ever) it occur during menses?(when it occurs before--how it afceted once menses flowstart? howmant days from start of menses to next menses stat?how regular is it?

About 4.5 years ago I had the following (what I term metabolic crisis--this is when I was diagnosed with PCOS): gained 10 pounds quickly and without explanation, got 'herpes' on my ear! (had chickenpox as a child), had severe SD outbreak on face (very red, burning). Was put on metformin, which appeared to alleviate symptoms, but clearly the problem is still there.
If I get outbreak on face, it lasts about 3-4 days. Comes usually right when period starts. Same with scalp. Periods are regular because I am on thyroid drugs. In the last eyar, I have had irregular/middle of the month spotting about 3 times. I am 28 days almost exactly.

Just prior to the outbreak 4.5 years ago I moved due to husband's job transfer. So it was stress, but nothing extreme.

I have very few PMS symptoms, except this SD and irritability, which feels like this is always!

I am really looking to cure thyroid problem as I think this is all related. I hate the drugs I am on; don't feel right. Not normal for otherwise healthy person to want to sleep at 4 pm when I get almost 8 hours regularly.

Oh, and what is reedy selection?

Mr.Stanton, I wonder if anybody is able to understand completely what you write.
I could never find anything in your writing which is completely clear in its meaning and objectives.
I believe that you are a learned person .I humbly request you to write simple and understandable English.

I feel best in the morning between 8 am and 11 am; worst from 3 om until 5 pm.

I generally sleep on my side or back. (Mostly side)most comfortable on right side.

My thyroid symptoms way back were: great fatigue, sense of being overwhelmed by small taks, low libido, constipation, irregular periods, heavy periods, freezing cold, especially in extremities, joint pain in hands; slow metabolism.

Skin complaints occur usually AFTER the start of the period and only last a few days. Maybe 4-5 max. This time, scalp issue started in middle of period and lasted until after period was over.

Now my thyroid symptoms are: fatigue, difficulty losing weight but easily gain, somewhat blue or depressed, irritability, low libido. I sometimes, about 4 - 8 days of the month, random timeing, have difficulty falling asleep. My mind races and the smallest thought will pop into my head and I will gasp like 'I need to do that right now' 'I shouldn't forget that!' even if it is something stupid. I MUST have a light fan or something on when I sleep or I feel like I am suffocating, even if it is cold inthe room. I hate warm stuffy rooms at night.

we need sort these symptoms--allo drugs have given rise to some characteristics not of the original ill--

TELL ONLY MOST CURRENT with the following questions...etc

(1)the menses/skin association is place we will start--as of currently(now/most recent menses)--scalp skin complaint occurred--where excat location?---other times when on face -next to nose--explain exact location----

(2)after skin calm--how much visible of skin being affected?total clear? how long will scales remain?please explain the exact (exact sequence)--from start of skin complaint (using last menses as guide)--to point of skin complaint ceasing..
what were dtaes of beginning of last menses ?ending last menses?

(3)explain exactly--the ways u feel best from 8am-11am----as also expalin exactly what is worse from 3 pm -5 pm...

(4) most current ---explain in what way(s) open air exactly makes u feel better..

Scalp is all over (usually only in margin near temples...this time all over. very white and scaly, minimal itching)

Next to nose is starting in'fold' next to nostrils, red from there to about 1/2 inch out from nose. total area is about 1 square inch. Only about 2 times per year is this bright red. USUALLY every month is at least very dry and thick scales that can be peeled off. Those months have minimal redness, but is an oily scale. I just finished my menses 4 days ago. (start date 2/16-end date 2/21. No skin complaints. Scalp better today but not totally normal. For example, two days ago if you lifted the hair on the side of my head by my temples you would see very white layer of scale.

Regarding sequence, it seems if I get the RED skin, I get fewer scales. If it isn't burning red, I get the scaling skin. Interestingly, i read awhile ago about this problem being associated with yeast so I put a dab of antifungal cream on my face to see if that was true and the next day the bright redness was gone (scale still there). If I use a 'scrub' on my face, scale STILL there after shower. (Prefer homeopathy, but testing things here!)

Current meds:

1000 iu vitamin D
monavie juice, abou 3 oz. every day
75 mcg. levoxyl daily
1000 mg metformin daily
10 mcg cytomel (T3) daily
occasional use of Bach's rescue remedy adn vervain (to get to sleep)

I take all of these in the morning on empty stomach 30 minutes before food or drink

In terms of feeling best, I have the most energy and feel happiest and best during the morning hours. Feel extremely tired between 3pm and 5 pm. Get a second wind after those hours.

Again, vegetarian diet, but am currently not anemic. I am tired of feeling tired!

Skin applications--paraben free face cleanser, organic clay mask 2x per week, (I have congested pores) sometimes mineral makeup, sometimes not. Depends on what I am doing.

Thank you so much for helping me walk through this.

I am trying to think if there is anything else that might help...

I am a new student to homeopathy, so i am so excited to be walked through this! I want to rid myself of chronic issues. Should I stop allopathic drugs alltogether?

jeac2008 last decade
allo meds will intefere in the process sooner or later---but as if used allo drugs for a while--symptoms which exist r ''tailored '' to allo meds in sytstem mongroled with natural ill that exist---i dont recommend stopping use at this time--and wont recommend til i am ceratin i can manage the case in right by internet-------

u mentioned bach remedies use---concerning sleep---please explain this area of yourself---how often sleep problems ?exactly what is the complaint in this sphere?when last time (date0? expalin other symptoms or coinciding factors that exist at this time...

about maybe 7 times per month the rescue remedy--when feeling stressed. About 3 times per month to relax before sleep the vervain. His has only been about 3 months. My sleep problems go way back. Have always been a light sleeper and run through issues in my mind when in bed. Goes in spurts. Hasn't happened in several weeks (that I can't sleep).

expalin the ways u feel beer in open air--cover all tatapplies to this-also in any way open air agitates (if aplies)?

You are so great to stick with me. UPDATE: I am kind of red and 'dry/scaly' even 4 days post menses. I thought this came only with my menses, but lo and behold, I have a slight touch of it now. It feels dry and rough to touch.

OK, back to the question. I CRAVE fresh air. I love sleeping with my windows open (but usually cannot). I must have some air movement in my bedroom or I feel suffocating. If I wake up to turn on ceiling fan, I see my husband pull covers up around himself, but I can't help it. I feel like I can't breathe in a closed room. NOTE: I don't like warm sleeping rooms. But in the daytime, i can handle warm rooms. Does this matter? I hate the cold, but it does not seem to 'aggravate' any symptoms. I just feel miserable when I am cold. Windy is worse than cold. If it is windy outside I really almost will not go out unless it is a warm, tropical wind, like 85 degrees or warmer. It puts me in an instant bad mood.

For amental note in terms of state of mind: I would be described as : an extrovert, happy, witty, funny, very dry sense of humor, but I also like my alone time. I am extremely intuitive and can see fake people a mile away and will not engage with fake people. I can go days/weeks/months without speaking to friends on the phone and pick up right where we left off. I am forgiving, compassionate, analytical and very sensitive. I can seem distant to some when I am just minding my own business, trying not to get caught up in gossip and the like. Sometimes I pull back from friends who are too 'heavy', if that makes sense. If everything is a drama with them I sometimes keep my distance. In fact, I might move soon and it doesn't bother me at all. I feel like it is sometimes easier to put a distance between people then deal with a friend's intimate questions/confrontation about why I pulled back.

Does this help? I know emotional/mental symptoms are very important.

If and when I get colds, they always start out with a sore throat. Then nasal/congestion. Rarely do I get a cough but if I do it is fairly significant. (I can usually stop my colds with homeopathy before they get severe) yay! I have a strong stomach and like spicy foods. Not much makes me queasy in terms of surgeries, blood and stuff. Gross food makes me queasy! Like meat!

when last time (date) had such cold as started in troat first u entioned)?
how often exactly u get such colds ?what seems bring them on?

from list of meds/suppleents ...etc u mentioned earlier post----which r u able stop usage withaout ANY possibly problem?please explain

John Stanton last decade
I get a cold maybe 2 times per year. I have children in elementary school, so someitmes I seem to pick up what they bring home. (Incidentally, they both were just sick with colds and I was not.) They probably have 3-4 colds per year. Normally sick in winter.

In terms of meds and supplements, none are life sustaining. I could stop all. Stopping all thyroid related meds would likely result in weight gain first and then? Don't know as I haven't been off for 6+ years. All I know is that maybe my thyroid labs read correctly now but I don't feel 'in balance'

Should I consider treating hypothyroid FIRST as primary issue? What do you think my primary issue is?

jeac2008 last decade
Forgot to say my last cold and first or second of 2007 was in late December. I traveled to Europe and got symptoms of the cold 2 days after I got there.

my6 thinking on this--is if we treat with use of current meds--and response occur-we wilneed address dosage and use of meds currenlty used--for the treatent will have effected total self---this here is long road--but may be we need take this route--as for we willwean to point of no use --assessing along the way and prescribe as deemed necessary---long road--but again ay be path we need take in ur case--other way is totakl removal--and treat as sympts arise---not transient symptos (inpassing) but reaining symptosm--due to artificla drug use--relinquishing hold--- i prefer the second --but this will require--close coiunication and ability to obtain remedy(s0 with quickness--and certainty---

u need tell me ur thougts on this?

John Stanton last decade
I really am willing to try all meds. Nothing 'shocking will happen' as they are only drugs masking symptoms. I appreciate the problems of trying to treat a chronic problem while still on allopathic drugs...one gets an artificial read.

SO, let me be clear: you prefer to stop drugs, monitor symptoms and feelings and states carefully and treat whatever comes up as it comes up?

The hlaf life of thyroid medicine is fairly significant. Halflife of other two is nothing--goes out of blood quickly. Do I stop all vitamins and supplements also?

I only have 30x kit--I will eed to pre-order some remedies in the right dose in order to do this. Otherwise I will be waiting too long. Suggestions?

jeac2008 last decade
all things will be stopped if we approach this way--supplements --meds and such--

before stopping such --we will need be clear of symptoms (as best remembered) prior to each med or supplement was addedd to life...this will give an idea of what is what as symptroms appear--noting reoccurance of old symptoms or occurance of new symptoms (never had before in life)--this will be compared to after first ;;test;; dose of homoeopath remedy as exists ....

so lets go over again--exact sequence--from latest med added to life---date and symptoms prescribed upon--and let s go backward in time --too each med and suplement==also fill in notes to as what changed after taking med /supplemnet-vitamins--until we reach the time when no meds were part of life---long process -- i know--but for both of us--so if still willing lets proceed..

Added B complex 2 weeks ago. no change

Added Vitamin D about 1 month ago, no change

Added monavie juice (high in antioxidants) about 6 months ago. No negative change. I feel more energy on that.

No change on accassion when I take Bach

Added metformin about 4.5 years ago. Lost the weight I had gained suddenly. SD seemed to go away, but it was not permanent. Came back intermittently after about 2 years. Now the facial dryness/scaling is fairly constant as of past 7 months or so.

Added T3 about 5 years ago. Felt better initially, but it is pretty hard to remember. **This seems to be where the skin issue started although not immediately.** I also moved in this time and only lived in that house for 8 months and moved halfway across the country. So, with two very young kids, this could be considered stressful.

About 7 years ago added Levoxyl. Had a bump in mood, joint pain went away. Felt overall better in terms of fatigue. Periods regulated more. They were never horribly irregular, but now they are clockwork. Now feel tired, somewhat 'blue' although not depressed.

Before any meds I had energy, felt positive, was busy, mind was stimulated (I worked full time). Never had any skin scaliness or redness.

concerning sexual energy--what is current as compared to past( at various points throughout healh history u have mentioned)----such as desire--aversio--complaints prior -during after--...ETC ETC
