Homeopathy is a holistic approach to healing. That is, it aims
to treat all of a patients symptoms as manifestations of one underlying
cause. Therefore, it works best if all of your symptoms are included,
however unrelated they may seem. See our self

The following are tips for the use of the remedy finder search
function:
- To include a few symptoms in one go, separate them with a +
sign (i.e. sharp pain in head + sneezing in cold air + dry throat).
Otherwise, you can add further symptoms at a later stage.
- Remember, the search is primarily for symptoms, not conditions,
though many conditions show up as they have been entered by users.
- If you can't find a particular term, try searching for one level
above it.
- Don't get too precise too soon. For example, if you type pain
left knee, you may miss other relevant symptoms which apply
equally to both knees.
- If your search does not yield the results you hoped, try rephrasing your search. To a large degree, this is done for you; many similar
words are treated as the same word. However, as words can have
different meanings in different contexts, the thesaurus can not
account for every eventuality.
- The search only shows matches with all of the words in each term. i.e. if you search 'sharp pain left knee', you will get no results, so try 'sharp pain knee + pain left knee'.
- By default, only the top 12 results are shown. For most searches,
this is more convenient. If you wish to see more results, enter
a higher number in the limit search results box at the
bottom of the screen. Entering zero, or removing the number entirely
will make the search unlimited, and in some cases many thousands
of results will be shown, so be prepared for a long wait for the
next page to load if you do this!
And finally, to get the most out of the search, it is best to know
roughly what is in the database; it is therefore recommended that
you use the browse categories where possible to begin with.
