This feature is to make it quicker to repertorize, by avoiding repeating yourself.
For example, suppose you have a sharp headache in the morning, and in
the headache category you've ticked both sharp and morning. Each of those
will lead to further tick boxes, offering morning as an option in sharp
headache and sharp as an option in morning. In this case, 'sharp' will be greyed out on future screens, as will 'morning'.
If you wish, you can still check greyed out options, but this may lead you to repeat yourself unnecessarily.
In contrast, the generalise option allows you to tick repeated terms automatically.
