The ABC Homeopathy Forum

Holy basil/ Tulsi/ Ocimum Sanctum

Does anybody know if there exists a homeopathic of the above mentioned herb?

If so, what are its chief actions? It is most commonly referred to as tulsi in India where it is revered in ayurvedic medicine as an herbal....

Specifically, what are the results typically experienced from taking either the homeopathic or herb.....

Thanks for any reply!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Yes Jentoun,
Tulsi is a herbal plant of which worship is done by Hindus of the world.

Many many Hindu homes grow a Tulsi plant at a special place in their home garden and it is worshipped.
The area around the plant is normally bounded as it is considered to be a sacred area.

Why so....becoz it has medicinal properties. It is worshiped...to thank the Lord for giving this wonderful herb to the universe. It is also worshipped so that the plant may bloom becoz of the positive vibrations.

Anyway, you can grow a Tulsi plant in a flower pot in your house.

It is anti-TB, anti-cancer,anti-asthma, will cure most problems connected with the lungs and the throat. Also improves digestive system in many ways.

Ayurveda ...is a study on human healing and was directly incorprated in the 'Vedas'....the ancient Hindu books of wisdom. It is said that the Vedas were gifted directly by God for the benefit of the human race at the inception of the Universe. (Cannot be verified).

The benefits of Tulsi are listed in the Ayurvedic books.

Easiest way to consume Tulsi is to add two/three leaves of th plant (or powder of Tulsi) to the water used for making your morning cup of tea. Let it boil for about 7 to 8 minutes. Then add tea leaves and milk etc.

You can drink Tulsi tea every morning ...and you will notice a distinct rhythm in your breathing within a few days of that.
Also it has a pleasant aroma.

It is wonderful for those who are prone to frequent coughs, colds.

I have tried it many many times successfully....on others and self.

I am sure ...some people will list here more benefits of Tulsi.

Best wishes,

Pankaj,

Thanks for your reply!

Have you ever known anyone to use this homeopathically?

Also, how different is this from the common sweet basil found in America? (I assume that I will have to locate the specific variety of Tulsi = Ocimum Sanctum).

I have problems with elevated cortisol and stress hormones/ hair loss/ hormone problems and want to try Tulsi for those issues and my 5 year old son has really severe allergic asthma and I would like to use this for him.

Do you think that Tulsi is indicated for us? I have no experience with this plant and would love to hear your thoughts since you have experience with it.

Best Wishes!
