effexor xr...

Ok I know many people think this is pretty dumb but I've decided to come off of Effexor XR.

I've been on it for about a year and a half (maybe more) after being on Paxil CR for over a year. Withdrawls from each are horrible but these are worse than Paxil...

So I'm running out and I can't afford to go back to the doctor for a refill and I certainly can't afford the medication anymore.
So for the past week or two I've been taking one pill every two days to conserve my medication in hopes I could save the money to go to the doctor but it isn't possible.
Its been about 3 days since I last took a dosage and the withdrawls are kinda bad. I knew about them before from missing dosages and stuff but now I know I'm in it full time. The 'brain shivers' are the worse of it all.

I'm not sure on what I'm going to do, really, but I'll think about that after the withdrawls are gone. I'm thinking about St. John's Wort for depression and stuff but I'm bipolar so I hope it'll help.
I'm also on Effexor of anxiety, hypersomnia, and IBS. Any idea on how to lull those things after I'm off? Chamomile tea helps the IBS but it isn't convieniate.

Has anyone else gone off of Effexor with success? How about cold turkey? Anything that can help?

So... I'm mostly here for support I suppose. I'll check back in often with updates and things. And I'll post anything I've forgotten thus far and/or answer any questions anyone may have for me.

Responses welcome!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Bach flower remedy 'Rescue remedy' will come in handy for those who try to wean off effexor.

Can you give me a reliable source on that remedy? Thanks, also!

Thus far I'm not doing too horribly. The 'brain shivers' are still pretty bad and I'm super lethargic but I'm not vomiting or anything. I'm gonna just try to white-knuckle through.

Dramamine seems to be helping with dizziness which is cool.

Anyone else have advice? Thanks in advance.
