post-traumatic Fibromyalgia Syndrome

I changed my reply topic to a previous post but then realised it did not change the main title. Since I have received a diagnosis thought I'd post with the correct title.

I have been diagnosed with post-traumatic Fibromyalgia Syndrome. I have IBS and anxiety since March 05 and then was rear-ended in Feb 06. Never made the connection that the insomnia and body ache/fatigue that started soon after was related to the whiplash.

My current symptoms are:
Inability to get into 3rd-4th stages of sleep (been 9 mths barring a few days in between that I haven't slept).
Heavy head/TMJ
Slightest activity tires and gives pain in different parts of the body. Pressure on any spot hurts
Excessive crying
Numbness and Tingling of extremities
Extreme Hair Loss
IBS symptoms of alternating constipation/diarrhoea with flatuelence persist. Can hardly eat anything.

Is there anything in homoeopathy for this.

You should try and feel Aconite, Gelsemium, Phosphorous and Causticum. Each remedy may give you some benefit in some dimension.

Say start with Gelsemium 30 once a day for three days and wait for another three days to observe. Then other...

Kuldeep has touched a vital subject in case management, particularly self treatment.

Many times, when we read materia medica,we feel a couple of medicines are very close to us.

The best thing then is to try one medicine at a time.If you are in reasonably good health, but still feel you have certain issues ,either emotional or social, and feel a particular medicine can benefit you,go ahead and take it,as a single dose.

Then wait for atleast three weeks to assess the response.

The medicine wil do all the good it can, even if it is a partial similimum.

If it happens to be way off, and doesn't fit your susceptability, it doesn't do any harm. It is as if taking nothing.

In fact, it is encouraged to read materia medica, and take at the rate of one medicine per month, which seems close to you, even when you are in good health.

By the time you reach the fifth one, or sixth one, you will feel a lot of difference.

the only caution is singledose, and maximim waiting.3 weeks is the minimum.

Nobody is perfect, and may not be able to choose the similimum in first go.There are always 3 to 4 medicines, for any chronic condition, which vie with each other for attention.

In such cases, it is best to try all the four, one after the other, single dose at a time, giving a month's gap between each one.

You must be aware of the remedy relationships,to chose which one first, and which one next.

Of course, this is applicable to non serious chronic disease.

I myself got cured of my heel spurs this way. If you ask me, which medicine helped I can't say.

It is a series, and all migh ht have helped in their own way.

For homeo enthustiasts, who want to learn ,and self treat, the best book is

'The Science of Homeopathy' by Geoege Vithoulkus.

I had tried Phosphorus in July and it worked only for a few days. Have tried other homoe remedies but nothing seems to work (and I have grown up on homoe meds for the few probs I had in the past and they were always effective).

Also found out that I now I have developed reactive hypoglycemia. I am a vegetarian who cannot have milk and any beans (due to IBS). I want to go on a low glycemic diet but it is going to be a challenge. Any homoe remds for this.

My IBS, poor sleep, TMJ pain, extreme fatigue, hair loss (nails have stopped growing now) continue.

My doc put me on Ambien 10mg because after 9 mths I need sleep and don't want it to add to any probs. First time in my life I am taking a non-homoe sleep aid.

Thank you
