Hi friend:

At present I only can suggest some management for TMJ and discuss some issues of TMJ disorder.

It mainly affects woman of childbearing age. Does it is applicable to you?

In many cases it occurs with fibromyalgia and mitral valve prolapse. Do you suffering from this.

And all these things are found to be related to magnesium deficiency which is related to heavy menses. Does it is a matter with you?

Headaches usually occurs with TMJ disorder. Do you suffer from headache?

Management:

Jaw rest, the applications of heat or ice to help relieve jaw pain

Avoid: chewing gum, eating hard-to chew-foods, and opening your mouth wide to ensure that you do not worsen your TMJ condition.

You may be required to wear a dental splint that is designed to help you reduce grinding and clenching. This plastic device fits over the top or bottom teeth and will not create any serious disturbance to your daily routine.

Dr. Saroj,

Yes, I am female.
I have mitral valve prolapse.
I don't have fibromyalgia. but I have chronic fatigue, brain fog and occasional muscle cramps and joint pains.

I do not experience any headaches.

In my case the tmj problems started one year ago with a wisdom teeth that errupted horizontally. I got all my wisdom tooth removed, but after the surgery tmj got worse and nowadays I am avoiding nuts and hard foods which I really like to eat.

I do have a habit of clenching my teeth, unaware of.

Will taking magnesium supplements help with tmj ?

thanks

You may also want to try Hecla Lava 12x, 3 times daily for 3 weeks.
