help! sudden chest pain

Hello,

I'm in my late thirties and i find myself suffering from a deep aching chest pain on my right side just above and between my nipple and center bone of chest. It is radiating to my back also. I find it most painful when I take a deep breath in; it feels better when i burp or straighten my shoulders. Please let me know if there is any other information that i should provide.

Incidentally, I've been medicating myself recently with Argent Nit in 30c and 10M potencies, as I think it may be my constitutional remedy. So many of the mental and physical problems I have fall under this remedy. I mention this because I'm not sure if I am being aggravated by this or anything.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Hi Eureka!

This sound very much like a Costochondritis, which myself is suffering. THis is due to a bruise/Stretch/crack of the cartilage that connects the ribs to the breastbone (Sternum)

Check out this link for more info (google for more): http://www.emedicinehealth.com/costochondritis/article_em.ht...

Please buy yourself the homeopathic remedy Ranunculus Bulbosus C30 immediatley. First dose two pellets under tounge, Second and beyond take doses in wet. (search this forum for preparement info)

Continue this treatment for 1-2 weeks. Try to use your right arm as little as possible, and do looong walks slowly. Also lye as much as possible on your back on the floor flat out and relax after you have started on Ranunculus Bulbosus C30.

Good luck!

Fredrik,

Thank you kindly for your response. I read the information on the site that you linked, and it sounds like just what I have.

Incidentally, I was diagnosed with this condition when I was but 18 years old, but because this time it's much more severe, it didn't occur to me that it could be the same thing.

I did take some Advil and it seems to be helping for now. But I will look at the remedy you suggested and possibly supplement.

Eureca last decade
Hi Eureca!

No problem.

Just to mention, using Advil is a supressive treatment, and is doing nothing to the underlying cause.

So i would recommend you to go for the Ran-b

Good luck!

PS: post back after a while about your progress

Fredrik,

I went to urgent care on Oct 6th and got a definitive diagnosis of Costocondritis (without suggesting it in any way).

I was prescribed Indocin, which is an anti-inflammatory, and after doing some research I chose not to take it.

I was unable to obtain the Ran-B at my local homeopathy pharmacy. The pain has gotten pretty intense and I found that it had to do with all the usage and movement of my right side in picking up and carrying my daughter.

After a full night's rest I hardly feel anything, but after picking my daughter out of her crib in the mornings, carrying her downstairs, and then picking her up and placing her in her car seat, I found that the pain was agonizing by the time I sat at my desk at work.

I have ordered the Ran.B and will definitely post back to let you know how things progress.

Thank you ever so much for the feedback.

Hi Fredrik,

I received the Ran B. and amazingly enough, the container indicated that it was for Intercostal pain. I took the first dose last night in the manner that you indicated, and I will begin a second dose today in the wet form.

I am at work now and I usually am in severe pain by now what with the usual carrying of my toddler daughter but today the pain is much less severe. I only notice it when I take an extremely deep breath and my right arm is only a little sore.

Have a good day.

Hi Eureca!

This is really great. It is of importance to rule out other causes, and this have been done for you now, and then one can proceede ones own.

I will be eagerly awaiting your feedback, to hear how this evolves! http://www.abchomeopathy.com/images/em0001.gif

Hi Fredrik,

This is going to sound strange, but I have very little pain today. I've tried taking excessively deep breaths to ascertain whether the pain is totally gone and have found that there is maybe a twinge still remaining.

This is not my last post; I will post again when the pain is eliminated entirely, or if there is an aggravation of any kind.

Regards,

Eureca

Hi Eureca!

This is great news. If the pains is going down much, you just wait with more doses......you do not want to overdose which will possibly make you aggravate.

What potency did you get the Ran-b in?

Hah, hello there Fredrik, passing on the good word I see? ;)

Hi Jacob!

Nice to see you here!!

Yes, Eureca seems to benefit the Ran-b greatly.

So Jacob, maybe you would be so nice to give some dosage advice to Eureca!?

Eureca: Jacob has great knowledge about homeopathy, and runs his own forum, where you also can post questions. You will find a link to it a www.jcs-homoeopathy.com

Haha, hello Fredrik.

Um...I'm not quite sure posting addies to other forums is allowed, but thankyou for the commendation :)

Dear Eureca, I would not repeat the remedy for a while. The twinge you still feel may be due to structural damage or pathological change which may take a little time to heal, now that you have provided the stimulus (the remedy). Repeating now could aggravate considerably until the condition is properley healed.

Best wishes to both of you :)

I have been remiss in posting. My pain is completely gone and has been since the day after my last post.

I've felt so good since returning to good health that I simply resumed all of my normal activities and forgot about my complaint and about coming back to post.

I got the Ran-B in 30c. I took a total of two doses, the first was by placing the pellets directly under my tongue and the second was in a wet dose. My pain subsided so quickly that I fortunately didn't feel the need to take any more doses for good measure. And now it is entirely gone and the issue resolved.

Fredrik,

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to pop in and advise me. I really don't think things would have resolved so quickly had you not helped.

This stuff is simply amazing; if I had the time or inclination I would take a formal study.

A big thank you to all of you who put in your precious time here without pay.

Dear Eureca

That is how a similimum works. No need to repeat the remedy, unnecessarily.

Congrats Fredrik

Do pop in once in a while atleast.

I forgot to ask you why you think it is that you continue suffering from this condition.

My doctor told me that I probably came down due to a severe cold/flu that I had a week and one half prior to feeling the first pain.

AFter reading the link you posted, as well as others I came to understand that it's possible to come down with this condition also due to physical injury. Is that the cause of your case?

Sincerely,

Eureca

Eureca:
This is just another example of how fantastic homeopathy is when used the right way. I am VERY happy on your behalf. Do remember that the usual progression of Costochondritis is that it takes 6-18 months for it to heal up on itself......and nothing can be done with alllopathic remedies. So i would definately advice you to go deeper into the wonders of homeopathy. I would strongly recommend you to buy a book that is called Impossible Cure by Amy Lansky, which is the by far best book i have read on the subject of homeopathy.

My case is VERY complicated, but it is actually induced by i chiropractic in yr 2002, so i have been suffering this for 4,5 years now. In this period i have been to 3 more chiros, and 3 physioterapists that actually have been keeping this problem 'alive' if you understand. My sole problem started in 1999 in army service where i got a nerve compression and upper left back problems after carrying to much heavy weight on left shoulder. Loooong story, but i am about to fix this out now, due to me finding out about Costochondritis just a couple of weeks ago actually. So it was just pure luck that i found your post Eureca, and i am very happy that i could help.

Costochondritis can not be seen on X-ray or MRI one have to use Scintigraphy which is not routine. Therefore lots of homeoremedies have been tried out. But now when i have found out that it is Costo then Ran-b is the remedy to go for, and it will take more time for it to work for me than for you.....but it will finally heal up and i can continue my life :)

Jacob:
Well, when i am the one that post the link as an advice to others, and i am not the owner of the site, it will not be removed by the moderator. (So once again everybody reading here, also check out Jacobs forum which is also great)

Murthy:
Thank you very much Murthy (Gavini??) i am honoured!! :)

Best wishes to all from Fredrik

Fredrik,

I happen to own that book. By chance I came across an online interview of Amy Lansky in Psychology Today detailing her experiences with homeopathy and Autism. That book is what convinced me to give homeopathy another chance. AFter reading it I quite felt like an armchair homepathic doc.

I'm sorry to hear about your ongoing issues with Costocondritis. I cannot imagine going through the pain I had for 6 months, let alone for years.

Certainly I am glad that you learned about Ran-B, and that I was able to profit from your research.

Keep up the good work and I will be looking out for more posts by you to others. ALso, thanks for the link to Hahnemania's website.

Regards,

Eureca

That is great, if you have read the book i would say that you have the best possible starting point to go deeply into this very exciting subject.

My probs with Costochondritis the last 4,5 years have been tough, but my soul is strengthened and i am on the road for full recovery :)

I hope i will see you more around this and hahnemanias forum Eureca.

I am suffering from the same pain described above and just had a quick question --is Ran Bulb safe to take while breastfeeding?

Hi, I had purchase Ran-b 30 for my grown son. He has been having the severe pain from costochdritis. The first couple of days it seemed to help but now it isn't. So maybe we are doing something wrong. It says to take wet, does that just mean with water? Is there something else that will help him. He is 24 and walking with a cane now because of the pain..thanks for any help

califlorina last decade
When I used the Ran-B, I was told to first take in the dry dose, then to take the wet dose. I was also told to stop taking it once it started to work.

I think the idea is that you are only stimulating the body to heal itself, not medicating the problem. Once the remedy seems to start working, I thought you are supposed to let off. If the pain returns and the symptom picture is the same, I thought you either resume or take a different dilution.

Eureca last decade
Hi,

Thank you for responding . What exactly is taking a wet dose mean?
Also he has been taking it for about 2 weeks, should he stop for a couple of days and see how he feels?
How bad was your pain when you had it?

thank you
