restless burning legs.

Hi there,

My dad is 77 years old. He has a plate in his right leg which has moved and his femur is starting is starting to crumble. He is was advised to have a hip replacement and an appointment is set for end of Sept. He experiences burning restless leg syndrome every night which results in him having to get out of bed and crawl around on his hand and knees. This relieves his pain, however this can occur up to 3/4 times a night. The burning sensation is from knee downwards mostly in right leg. He has polio in his left leg which has caused mobility problems all his life and out a lot of pressure on his right leg. I gave him causticm as I felt it was a good constitutional match but it has not brought any relief. I have a couple of questions. Is the plate and burning, resstlesness connected? will a hip operation bring any relief? Any thoughts on remedies, potencies?

Any help appreciated.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Burning in legs ..below knee level....on hitting the bed (from heat of the bed)...is normally a symptom of Sulphur.

Try to match other symptoms of his with the drug picture of Sulphur.

Hi Pankaj,

Thank you for your reply. I gave causticm as it appeared to match so many of his symptoms, sympathetic, sense of injustice-currently representing my sister in the European Human Rights court.(He is not a lawyer)warts on his face etc. I gave him 200 causticm pm and am 6 days ago.Howevr it has brought him no relief.
Would it ok to give him sulphur so soon after causticum and if so what dose should I give him.

Many thanks.

Yes...you can give.
Sulphur 200C ...one dose.
It is a blood purifier.

Hi Pankaj,

Dad took 200 sulphur about 10 days ago. The first night his legs were 'burning off me'. Since then, there has been some improvement but he continues to experience burning, restless right knee at night in bed which results in him getting up and moving about. This can happen up to three times night, which leads to another symptom sleeplessness. His hip operation on right side is due on 27th.He is very hopeful this will cure his symptoms, however I'm not so sure. Should we wait and see if sulphur continues to act or do you think another remedy is appropriate?

Any help appreciated.

Tell him to take a daily dose of Zincum Metallicum 30.

Sulphur is also indicated so use both in cycles at even odd days.
