hayfever or cold???

hi all
does anyone know of a way to tell the difference between hayfever and the common cold? my wee boy started sneezing yesterday morning and now has a runny nose, no temperature and i gave him aconite it didn't stop it running so this morning i gave him mixed pollens and some time later did the biggest sneeze and got his nose well cleared, though it looked like it had the greenish tinge to it, but my problem is how can i tell if it is the cold or not, have you any ideas?
thanks

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
If he has no fever, no dullness, no sore throat or digestive upset - it is probably not a cold.

If his nose has stopped running and he has stopped sneezing do nothing.
