This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Binod,
I have been a colon therapist for 9yrs. Moved recently and am not currently practicing. Colon therapy is consdered safe if properly administered by a trained therapist. It is important to give your complete health history. There are many things the colon therapist needs to know about your health and digestion before recommending you have a colonic. There are some health conditions, usually inflammatory diseases of the colon such as Crohn's disease or other inflammatory conditions in which it can still be safe and very helpful to administer colonics but a trained therapist will know to use cooler water and administer a much shorter colonic as not to overwelm their client's bodies. A good colon therapist should also be knowledgable about nutrition for colon cleansing and abdominal massage. Not all colon therapists are adept in these other areas so ask about their training when trying to find a therapist. In my nine years of practice I have never heard of a dangerous colonic situation. I also personally know at least 15 colon therapists and they too have never reported any trouble. The method I perfer is called gravity method. The concept is a water source is placed higher than the treatment table. The water enters the body through a tube inserted into the anus 1-2 inches. The water enters the colon and when the colon is full your colon pushes the water out like when you normally have a movement and empties the water. This process is usually reapeated several times between 20-40 minutes depending on the client and their specific case. The release of matter feels like when you have diarhea. Its slightly uncomfortable at times but not painful. Call several colon therapists in your area. Most will offer a free brief consultation where you can meet them, see the equipment, and discuss their training and your particular health situation. When my clients call I usually have them start with some cleansing foods, juices, and herbs a week before coming in to loosen matter. This makes the colonic more comfortable and more effective. Though in cases of severe constipation you can go in for a colonic without prior dietary changes and have wonderful results. Usually though more than one colonic is recommended. The average person will start off with three spaced 1 wk apart along with some dietary changes (while cleansing), jucies and herbs to assist the body in moving toxins. Then you and your therapists can decide if you need more. Many people trying to cleanse will trya series of 6-12 spaced one week or bi-weekly. Colonics can be done more than once a week -twice if someone has never cleansed and feels very constipated or toxic spaced 3 days apart. And in some cases when someone is very ill they can be done everyday or every other day for a brief period for life threatening illnesses. Ok that should be enough info to get you started hope it is helpful. Oh and you can do much cleansing with just food, juices, and herbs of course tons of water but adding colonics makes the process go faster and is much easier on your body. People often comment that colnics are unatural and our forefathers and mothers used simply water and fasting to cleanse. I respond todays people are exposed to so many synthetic toxins, pesticides, presevatives, poisons in our food, water, and air plus vaccines, allopathic medicines and anti-biotics etc -all things are body is not biologically set up to digest and process out of our bodies. THese substances stay in our body and drinking just water in most cases isn't strong to enough to pull these toxins out. You can best help your body with dietary changes -especially green juices (lots of other stuff) and then use colonics to further assist your body in a gentle cleanse. I personally find colonics to be very soothing.

Binod,
I know no one in India, besides Amma from Kerla -not a colon therapist. I practiced in New Mexico and Arizona, USA and could refer you there but hopefully you can find someone in India. I am sure there are many colon therapists throughout Europe as well -hopefully you would not have to go that far. Are you familiar with an enema? Its a small plastic water bag that you fill with purified water and it has a tube and small nozzle for interserting into the rectum. You fill it with water and hang it on a shower head in bath area. You kneel down on your knees and place your head and shoulders lower than your hips. You gently insert the nozzle into the rectum 2 inches and allow the water to enter. Because the bag is hanging high on the shower head connected to you through the tube, gravity will allow the water to flow through the tube into your body. You attempt to take in the entire bag of water 1-2 qts of water. After a brief time you will have to use the toilet quickly. It will be like very quick diarhea. You find that after taking in only a small amount of water you need to quickly use the toilet. That is fine. Take all hte time you need to fully evacuate your bowels. It may cause you to have loose stools on and off for a few hours. If you only take int a small amount of water when you are ready try to take in the rest of the bag. The kits come with a clamp to put on the tube or hose in which the water flows so you can stop the flow of water as needed.
It is not as comfortable or as effective as a colonic by any means but it is a simple, home kit that can help for constipation. In the US, we purchase these items at a pharmacy. If you are seeking colonics for detoxing your body you can start with dietary changes and herbs. Let me know if you have tried anything with cleansing foods or herbs. Have you consulted an Ayurvedic doctor for herbs yet? Let me know if you need any more help, Leela

It would be best if you could find a local colon hydrotherapist, ayurvedic practitioner, or herbalist to help you. The main reason is although I can give you some suggestions it is best to work with someone that can see you and monitor your progress. They may be able to physically notice things about your eyes, skin, voice, etc that may give them more information. So I would suggest continuing to seek a local person for help with this.
Now keeping that in mind with the information you have given me, you may have a simple case of candida or yeast infection of the colon. Normally you have positive flora and negative flora in your colon. The positive flora is there to help you digest or break down certain foods like dairy and fiberous foods. Anti-biotics, many pain pills, fried foods, alcohol, and western medicines kill the positive flora that you need for digestion. Also the overeating of acidic and sweet foods such as fruits, sugar, potatoes, fried foods, all meat besides fish, and prepared foods with preservatives in them cause the negative flora and yeast to grow in excess. When that happens it causes bloating, and foul smelling gas to begin with if left unchecked it can continue to cause additional problems including memory loss and feeling spacey or foggy in the head. There are actually numerous other ways it can effect your health. Research candida. Also post a new question on this site titled candida. You will likely get responses from homeopaths on homeopathics you cna take for this. I am not a homeopath, just a novice in that area. There are many herbs used to cleanse the colon and then it is very important to replenish the positive flora. You can do that with taking acidolphilus in capsule form, must be refrigerated. Take for at leasat one month after doing some cleansing herbs, longer if things do not clear up. Again there are so many herbs and supplements you could take and I am not sure what you have access to? I am fairly certain you should be able to find the Triphala formula. It is an ayurvedic formula for cleansing the colon. The important thing is to go off the foods which feed the yeast while cleansing: dairy, sugar, meats besides fish, fried foods, breads any carbs, vinegar, prepared(purchased) sauces and condiments -because of the vinegar, sugar and preservatives. It is an almost impossible diet to follow. You are allowed vegetables, fish, lots of good oils like sesame, olive, flax, no grains except barley and millet but don't eat too much of those in moderation only, water and teas without sugar -note some teas if old have mold in them which feeds yeast so seek freshly dried tea if you can.
Herbally -aloe vera juice 1/2 cup 2X a day, grape seed extract if you can find it -10 drops 3x day, there are so many ayurvedic herbs you could take that I am not familiar with. Is there a store which sells herbs that you may be able to aske someone that works there to recommend something?
So research candida, you may find little tests you answer to see if you likely have candida on many candida sites. You will also find suggested diets and herbs to take. Again post here for a homeopath's response as well. Oh and one exception with dairy is to eat unpasturized, fresh, yogurt with no sugar added because it has natural healthy flora in it to help you body regrow positive flora. Hope this gets you started and seek local health. Ayurvedic medicine is amazing and may have all the answers you need. Leela
