My 8yr old son hit the car tyre and had a big bruise on his ankle. There was no blood but a lot of portion of skin peeled of and also maybe due to the intensity of the hit the side of the ankle is swollen. The doctor has not given any Anti-Titanus inj.I gave him Arnica yesterday. What else can I give him as he is complaining of severe pain.naushadakhtar on 2006-07-13
This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
You can lessen the pain with Calendula ointment. When you dont hve Calendula ointment, you can add some drops of a lower (2-6) tincture in a neutral ointment and mix it.

What I meant was a low potency of the Calendula remedy. Use the 2, 4 or 6 potency (X or D dilution). Add some drops to a neutral ointment and mix. Apply this mixture to the wound, it will relief the pain and accelerate the healing.

For small wounds you can put some drops of Calendula to the inside of a band aid and stick it to the wound (freshen it three times a day). It is cheaper than the Calendula ointment and just as effective.
