Acne Scarring

I am a 20 year old female who suddenly and severely broke out this past August. I have been struggling with it ever since. The acne seems to be almost under control, however, now I am left with a lot of scarring. Some pitted, and other scarring is just red dots that have been there for months and months and just don't seem to be fading. Is there anything I can take to help with the scarring and if so, how much is safe?
