alternating blocked nostrils + post nasal drip + chest pains

Hi, I'm a 26 year old male, living in California. I've been encountering a few health issues lately, and a friend referred me to this site.

The only allergy that I know I have is to dustmite.

1. Alternating blocked nostrils - I've had this problem for about 10 years now. At any given time, I can only breathe clearly through one of my nostrils. The other one is blocked. Its hard to say which nostril is blocked and when, there doesn't seem to be a pattern. I have a deviated septum. When I try to clear my nose, I constantly see a semi-solid clear discharge. I also have headaches that are fairly frequent.

2. Post nasal drip - I've had this problem for a little over a year now. I have annoying post nasal drip which makes me want to clear my throat constantly. I also have trouble swallowing. I do not suffer from halitosis, but the back of my tongue does get white however. I believe this could also be the reason my mouth is constantly dry. When I clear my throat, the discharge is usually clear, but the relief is only temporary. Drinking warm liquids seems to also give temporary relief.

3. Frequent but sporadic shooting pain in the left side of my chest - I've had this problem for about 6 months. I'm not sure what caused it, but sporadically, yet frequently, I feel shooting pains on the left side of my chest, right above my rib area. The pain lasts for about 8-10 seconds. Nothing relieves it - I've tried stretching and rubbing the chest. I'm also not sure what triggers it, since its sporadic. I've consulted with many doctors most of whom have written this off as stress, which relieved my concerns. But of late, I've been getting stressed over this so-called 'stress pain', which is rather ironic. I also got several tests done, and no problems were seen. An EKG also didn't reveal any hidden issues. I vaguely remember that around the time I started to see this issue, there was a week when my stool was extremely bloody. That problem (the bloody stool) seems to have cleared itself out.

I apologize that there's quite a few issues that're listed here. I looked up the site and followed the remedy guide to see if I can start taking some medication, but most of the issues I've pointed out seem to have more than one remedy. And I've also seen a post which says that I shouldn't be combining medications. So, I'm looking for the most effective way to consume medication for getting the best results. What would be the best way to proceed? Should I try and tackle these issues one at a time?

Thank you very much in advance!

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
I too have one alternating blocked nostril. I am 31 and have had this since I was a child. Does anyone know if this interferes with endurance during strenuous activities/sports. I hope you find your answer to this problem as Im hoping its a general remedy for anyone with this symptom to take.

Hi Dr. Sharma,

Thank you very much for your prompt reply - I really appreciate it.

I'll give Belladonna a try, and report back to you in a week.

I'm guessing the standard rules apply - try to eat on an empty stomach, and avoid spicy foods, orange juice, yogurt etc.? Anything else to avoid or be wary of?

Also, just out of curiosity, is Belladonna the recommended medication for all the issues I've mentioned?

Thanks again very much!
