Esophagitis-treatments?

I have had esophagitis for about 13 years now. Its gotten worse over the yer, but Nexium has been controlling the heartburn.
My Doctor has advised me to consider the surgery, but once that laprascopic approach has been perfected. For know I am taking 40mg nexium a day.

I plan to see a natural path, but anybody know from experience if this approach works? My gastro doctor (Western) doctor, said I would be wasting my money. Any comments?

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Does nexium works upon you?

Yes, nexium is working well. It hasn't lessened in its effectiveness as well.

I am not 100%, for example I burp more often than others. But this is a small inconvienience associated with Esophagitis. As long as there is no heart burn, I am happy.

Please type GERD into the Search Forums window on the left and read the many posts that have been made with advice on the treatment of this ailment which many millions suffer from.

The remedies that are used are Nat Phos 6x biochemic cell salt dose 2-3 tablets after meals and Arnica 30c in the wet dose.

You will not have to depend on Nexium or any other drug as the Nat Phos will give almost instant relief.

For esophagitis the best remedy is Veratrum Viride. But for hertburn Nat Phos has no equal.

To Sajjad

Thank you for suggesting Veratrum V for Esophagitis. I have not used it so far and I hope someone will do so and report response.

Here is the reference in Boericke:

Stomach.--Thirsty. Nausea and vomiting. Smallest quantity of food or drink immediately rejected. Constrictive pain; increased by warm drinks. Hiccough; excessive and painful, with spasms of Ïsophagus. Burning in stomach and Ïsophagus.

I believe that Nat Phos 6x is still the better option with Arnica 30c. The NP neurtalizes the acidity while the Arnica helps to rebuild the tissue damage that a chronic case usually presents.

The Esophagitis is usually due to the leakage of gastric juice through the lower Esophagal Sphincter valve up into the Esophagus which is not designed to withstand the ravages of this juice which comprises Hydrochloric acid and Enzymes. A drop of this juice will dissolve the skin on the back of one's hand in under 10 minutes. You can visualize the damage that it does to the inner lining of the Esophagus. It is this erosion of the lining that Nexium cannot prevent and
I have observed that the Nat Phos resolves the problem by promoting the emptying of the stomach through the Pyloric valve and I believe that this positive approach helps far better than only controlling the acidity by reducing the secretion which is what Nexium does. It is interesting to note that antacids that were used up to about 10 years ago are not generally prescribed today as they doctors are programmed to use Nexium

You can read the many testimonials from GERD patients who confirmed that my therapy helped them. Some of them had suffered from GERD for over 10 years and were hooked on the drugs like Nexium (Omeprazole) on a daily basis and the danger is that they were compelled to use increasingly higher doses of the drug just to stay alive. This and other similar drugs only palliate and do not cure.
