"..Some please help!!!
Every month I go through this major depression stage and it is driving me crazy. I wake up in the morning crying, I go to bed crying, I feel like my life is worthless, I feel like I am not acomplishing anything and I tell my boyfriend I don't want to be with him. Then after a week I want him back and my attitude is fine; he is really fed up with me. My doc prescribed PRozac but I did not get the prescrition filled. It is killing to keep going through this. Please Please Please help. Is Sepia good for me....."

we need to have a detailed information on her menstrual cycles. please give a descriptive answer to all these question;

1. Periods early or late or varying.

2. Flow profuse or scanty.

3. Flow thin or thick.

4. Flow colour dark or normal.

5. Any pain or discomfort before, during or after the periods. describe all the physical sufferings associated with it.

6. Mental symptoms before, during and after the periods.

7. Describe the general nature of the patient, likes hot or cold climate, her likes & dislikes, cravings and aversions.

8. Any strange behaviour mental or physical.

If all the symptoms are provided, we can probably recommend the right remedy.

Hello everyone, I just noticed this posting.
Here are the answers to my questions.

1. Periods early or late or varying. they usually com every 25 to 28 days

2. Flow profuse or scanty. My flow is profuse

3. Flow thin or thick. Usually thick

4. Flow colour dark or normal. Dark in colour

5. Any pain or discomfort before, during or after the periods. describe all the physical sufferings associated with it.
I usually have cramps the day my menses starts and throught out my cycle but no pain before, just the headaches.

6. Mental symptoms before, during and after the periods.
Before I am tired and very irritable and after my period I am jolly, joyful and full of energy.

7. Describe the general nature of the patient, likes hot or cold climate, her likes & dislikes, cravings and aversions. I like hot climates. I am always cold, at work I have a heater sitting on top of my desk even during the summer months. I am a very social person but lately I have not been socialable. I crave fatting food (fried foods pies, sodas and other sweets) berfore my period starts. Like today, and yesterday I have been in the house sleep for the most part and have no energy to go outside. I also feel like crying and I can't tell you why other than I don't want to feel down like this.

8. Any strange behaviour mental or physical. Not strange physical behaviors other than my face breacks out and as far as mental behavior I get somewhat forgetful.
We to answer all the question

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom rishimba [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-07
dayday34,

we infer that you are not in general a melancholic or depressed person based on any shocking incident in the past. nor you are having any problems of hysteria or any related disease.

we understand that all your mental and physical problems are associated with your menstrual cycle.

we have gone through your details on menses and your generals which you presented to us.

you are a SEPIA girl and there is no doubt about it.

your remedy is single set of 3 doses of SEPIA 200c at six hours interval. take this when the symptoms occur ie. first day of the periods.

subsequent periods would be much better.

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom John Stanton [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-07
what exact symptoms you prescribe sepia on?

symptoms starting after breakup?

or maybe headache ceasing on commenecment of menses?and starting just prior?

or

moodiness occuring regularly 6 days after menses cease?

all this start after breakup..

if wasnt for the breakup---what would you give sepia...read yuor books...not evry girl whom has sadness need sepia---maybe you mask others with own state of being...maybe you need sepia

inform yourself of this case info..go to last part of "depression" thread posted by sepia--here is wher info is left out---maybe you didnt see that wheni wroteit above..

anyway--alumina ;nat-muriatcum ; and if MAN hater--then sepia

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom John Stanton [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-07

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom rishimba [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-08
dayday,

is your depression related to the break up or your periods?

it makes a lot of difference in the diagnosis.

if you feel that you are generally depressed because of the separation and constantly brood about it, IGNATIA will work.

otherwise, your menstrual symptoms call for sepia.

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom dayday34 [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-08
I think the depression is a combination of both. I think more about the break up and my life when I am about to come on my menses. Other days throughout the month I am fine. I had even spoke to my ex and asked him if he could think of some times where I was very moody and he said yes but it was all the time. I figure since I was keeping track of my attitude it was usually different a week or two before my menses but when I do come on, I am fine. I don't have the sickning feeling in my stomach, I am not crying; I am just happy but as soon as I began to ovulate my attitude changes.

REVISED

I think the depression is a combination of both. I think more about the break up and my life when I am about to come on my menses. Other days throughout the month I am fine. I had even spoken to my ex and asked him if he could think of some times where I was very moody and he said yes but it was NOT all the time. I figure since I was keeping track of my attitude it was usually different a week or two before my menses but when I do come on, I am fine. rish please explain the exact symptoms used to determine solely that sepia is prime choice --concerning menses ...or maybe you say that to only sound correct.nothing to back up --maybe guess work... i am sure your explaination will help...

what did yo think about headaches just prior? and ceasing when menses start? what remedis you find have this characterisitc ? and what source of information yo use?

it would be most helpful..

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom rishimba [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-10
john,

i generally use kent for solving the rubrics. i did the same for kaddy and found sepia to be a cut above ignatia. now, as per her last post she says that the depression is there for the separation and this depression abruptly aggravates during the periods, which is a strong IGNATIA symptom.

i agree with you, if the depression is there based on a previous shocking experience in life and this aggravates during the periods, this will overpower SEPIA in the mental symptoms and thus IGNATIA would be a better choice.

john, please note that all my findings are based on comparison of rubrics and NOT on guess work.

also, after solving the remedy, i look back on my previous case histories and make a final choice.

cheers..

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom John Stanton [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-10
rhisimba--i supposed you used books..that is why i ask where and what exact rubrics used in this case?

some of tis case info is in "depression thread" posted by sepia.....check it out and see after analyzing..what you think?

sepia wasnt a second choice either for me?so of course my keen abrasive interest in how you come up knowing all info i know of? or how you came up with sepia with so little? eiher way it seems you avoid my question of where you found your info? its ok--only tells me something---i try give credit and alow prove myhunch wrong about your methods...so either your ego is hurt by me asking or you dont know...what else to think? you still write alot of words about you use kent and such--why not use that space to answer the questions?educate me? not saying that day day wont get an effect from sepia ---and if in good note---one may think a miricle occurred--but if relapse--what then?go higher? what if relaspe and new symptoms occur?you see thoroughness is important...back up your prescription with knowledge --so when case takes a turn you have options...so help me out here and let me know you just didn guess..i would feel better --that dayday in beter hands than a guesser..ok?

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom dayday34 [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-10
No, No, No John please don't get me wrong, I just seen in one post that you also said Sepia was ok for me. I just want to know what is best, I have no problem trying ignatia. I just kinda got confused with which remedey. I am not at all trying fight with anyone so please do not desert me.
Sorry I just reread your posting and you did say you do not agree with Sepia. Sorry!! Any way I think I will jsut leave well enough along and figure it out on my own because I don't want anyone agruing over what will help me. I am already confused so if I have two peopl tell me two different things I'm still lost so I'll just try to find a homopathic doctor here in my city. Thank you both for your help. Just talking about my symptoms help alot so far. Thanks a million.

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom John Stanton [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-10

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom rishimba [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-11
hi john,

take it easy, in homoeopathy, there is always an overlap of symptoms and the interpretation can cause differences in the right selection.

you may be right/ or lets say closer to the simillimum in this case. theres no big deal.
lets agree to disagree. let the patient come back and tell us which one is suitable to her.

as per my experience, ignatia's relation to menstrual disorders is not as strong as sepia's.

moreover, ignatia lady is generally sad based on some shock or hysteric, has disturbed sleep in general.

the patient didnt give much information about her past separations, so i suggested sepia based on her menstrual symptoms.
whatever, may the patient get the best of remedy...be it ignatia or sepia.

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom John Stanton [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-11
rhish---i think you said you use kents rep? i use also and others...but now you say "as per your experience ;ignatia's relation to menstral disorders i snot as strong."..damn look in rep under menses -just start reading..just black type even---is sepia the only freakin remedy there...NO!!!!

damn the more i read your words--the stupid-er you seem....

and let the patient decie --well what the hell you think this is --she asked for help--we are to use OUR thinking--as you did--but no way have you presented any answers to my questins about WHER YOU FIND YOUR DATA?only answer you give "as per your experience"...al our materia medicas and reps--and that is your answer...dont bother me any more with your stupid talk...answr my rubric questions--support your decisions with facts not """as per your experience"..so what sepia every time depression and menses problems damn--small world you live in...if your female tha explains all this sepia stuff...probably took it and gave some help--now you peach the gospel of sepia...if a man--then jsut dumb..

Re: DAYDAY 34 depression post hereFrom rishimba [Log on to view profile] on 2006-05-11
john,

i am practising for almost 13 years and after this much of experience i dont think i need to discuss things with anyone related to kent or how to solve the rubrics.

also, i am not here to educate the lads who only depend on the repertory. i have biuld up my own way of dealing with symptoms and that succeeds.

i recall in the last case, a lady took sepia as per my recommendation and she got her mental symptoms cured within a week.
you had chipped in with nat mur based on some weird analogy which was not heeded to by the patient.

probably, this incident hurt YOUR EGO and since then you cultivate a vengeance against me. i recall your posts to me are filled with hatred. i have many patients who are ignatia, infact my wife is ignatia patient. so, dont ever try to teach me the mentals of ignatia. i have treated depressions were the lady was ignatia, pulsatilla or nat mur as well. so, dont try to act smart with me with your nagging posts.

presently i am out of the country to iran on business and i dont have access to my scratch notebook where the rubrics were written, once i get back to dubai, i will write them here TO EDUCATE YOU.
