Tinnitus etc - Please cd a homeo look into this case | From carlotta [Log on to view profile] | on 2006-04-24 |

I would be very grateful if one could look into my boyfriend's case and suggest an appropriate remedy ...
He is 26 years old, 6ft caucasian, brown hair & eyes. Strong features.
As a child he had recurrent ear infections. These were extremely painful - like stabbing pains. Illness would always centre around the ear. Glue ear age 8 and 11. Had operations to put gromits in ears both times.
Was given antibiotics each infection.
He remember infection often followed swimming in pools.
The last ear infection was around 21/22 yrs.
He developed tinnitus age 21 and he hears in always in both ears - a high pitched ringing / tap running kind of sound. He used to go to v. loud dance music venues so there could be connection.
He recently told me it gets worse when he passes anything electrical - TVs , radios . I suggested maybe it had something to do with his fillings - he had mercury fillings at 19 yrs. He said i may have a point!
Tinnitus is worse when he is sickening - at onset of colds/flu. Recently he is prone to fevers more than anything else , although since he has been staying in an air conditioned hotel room he complains that his sinuses are "dried out" and hard mucus crustations in nose in am.
He has extremely dry , cracked feet which can be painful, and hard, thick thick brittle toe nails.
Mentally/emotionally he is more introvert than extrovert but happy and extrovert around people he feels comfortable with. At work - he works in high level IT - he is meticulous and v. assertive. He is kind, generous, creative, intelligent but does not suffer fools gladly! Very technical. Loves gadgets/computers/learning about how things work/physics/photography. Likes off-beat humour.
Likes summer. Prefers body to be cool.
Also suffers from flatulence, first thing morning and in the evening. Worse after rich, meaty, fatty foods. No particular favourite foods. Likes everything.
Any more info required please let me know.
With gratitude. Carlotta |

first thing before go further --he is to start daily use of Lactobacillus acidophilus, Bifidobacterium bifidum (probiotic combo)--get this at health store..take with 250 mg vitamin c and both at biggest meal of day..
also start now--avoiding ALL SWEETS.. avoid all breads/flour products..only flour product allowed is unleavened and made with buckwheat and rice flour..organic best
avoid all acidic foods and drinks (all alcoholic beverages;cofee;tea;fruits and fruit juices;pickled foods;vinegar;all carbonated soft rinks;...etc) no milk or milk products no foods with aditives and preservatives..NONE
NO drinking water taht has been treated (chlorine/flourine..etc).No distilled water
start here and start immediately---allow a few ays/week and post back with symptoms after string with this dietary adjustment-
also will need to know what medicines he use at this time?

Thanks for your response. I have a good probiotic I will give him from now.
He doesn't eat too much sweet stuff, but i have to admit, giving up the wheat may be a tough one . He did this on my recommendation for a week in the past and did not notice any difference so incorporated it again.
Will do my best to persuade with the rest.
Thanks again. | | |

People whose ears are depleted of wax usually have ear problems, check if he has wax in the ears. He can check it with some soft ear bud.
Also any history of constipation? Is he fat? | This thread continues beneath the following ad.

Kuldeep, thanks for input - he has good waxy ears, normal amount he says. Constipation as child, and also childhood obesity up to age 16. Mother overfeeding. Then exercised and lost the weight. He has not been overweight since.
John , can he have soya milk instead of cows? What about goats milk? What about rye, and rye breads? Also why what about fruits like locally grown organic apples and pears?
Also I forgot to mention that when as he is falling asleep he twitches and muscle spasms (which drives me mad!) . He also has very visible teeth imprints on the side of his tongue. Tongue looks kind of water logged. Also swallows a lot.
Do you think any of the Mercurius remedies would be useful?

Follow Pankaj's advice and if everything fails then try Graphites-30
Or just chew a smallest piece of pencil lead. Who knows.....

To John Stanton - hi, i'd be grateful if you could clarify the nutrition as this would help us to know what he can or can't include for now -
1. can he have soya milk instead of cows? What about goats milk?
2.What about rye, and rye breads?
3.Also why what about fruits like locally grown organic apples and pears? 4. How about grains like spelt eg. organic spelt pasta ?
5. How about tomatoes?
Thanks for your help | | |
