How long should the medicine be contined?

Dear experts, I had knee pains so took rhus tox and also apis for burning pains. The pain subsided but as I stopped, it seemed to be coming back. My question is:
1. How long should a medicine be taken? Example with coughs should one keep taking it even after there is no coughing?
2. Is there something as relapse/backfire as happens with antibiotics if one doesnt complete the course?
3. Should one continue with the same dosage or it should be reduced as the improvement shows?
4. Should one taper off a medicine?
5. Can one take 2-3 homeopathic remedies at 3 minutes interval?
6. There are certain companies who sell combination medicines and they work out effectively, then what harm is there in mixing medicines?

I am at a learner's stage so am confused. Please help.

Generally never take two remedies at the same time .

There are exceptions to this rule but they are few.

The point of homeopathy is that one STARTS a process .

One that is evolutionary normal to the body.

One that has been STOPPED by many things -- such as antibiotics, cannabis , stress , STD,s , etc.

When the blockage is UNSTOPPED by a homeopathic remedy then you can leave the body to continue .

At times it may be necessary to repeat the remedy -- but ONLY when the condition reurns NOT BEFORE:

Combination remedies are very low potency and can be taken repeatedly .. but STOP when improvement shows up and only start again when there is a relapse.

Dr.Deoshlok and Walkin, how do I know whether I am completely cured? There is no pain/ailment after having stopped the medication for 1-2 days but then it returns. That means I was not cured but I presumed I was. I hope I am making it clear?

what, when the symptoms are mixed and they are specific to two different medicines? In that case too shouldnt one take two medicines at intervals? Let me be specific, I have a family history of arthritis and my left knee started hurting on walking, there was a burning pain and I couldnt keep my leg down. I took rhus tox and also apis which made the pain go away the next day. So I stopped but it reappeared. Now I make it a point to take the medicines irrespective of any pain. My concern is when do I stop all this? If I dont stop what dosage should I continue with?

amelioration -wen immediate for a long term or chronic complaint --is usually indicative that remedy is only pallatating and not curative--partial coverage of symptomology --most like this particular case --overemphasis upon the obvius symptom--arthritis and characteristics--it is seen that most like this is not "key" to case here..need lok at totality of symptomology in other areas of body/mind unctions----treta in totality better way.....also need consider personal remianing causation as not allowing permenent cure...this could be anythin--genetic;dietary ;living conditiond;medicinal dis-ease (from past treatments...etc--need consider all of this....sometimes need play with potencis--vary up down --12c;30c;200c;;...single remedy also is best option--this gives certainty what remedy did what --much easier to monitor----eliminates guess work--as long as prescriber know what to do wen no response --or where to dig for further info....Clear? or no?questins?

John, I am a lay person so your big terms have got me more confused. I know many diseases depend on various factors but if I have to stop any medication, does it have to be tapered or I can just stop abruptly? How long do I keep on taking the medication after I get alright?

simply put---when ANY effect occur--better or worse--NO more remedy...but i dont advocate repetition of dose without dose modification and good reasoning...also NO porblem stopping abruptly---after stopping access existing symptoms---may need follow up remedy...

Thank you John, I now understand.
