Oromandibular Dystonia, quick jaw spasms/jerks

Male
6'
200lbs, I lift weights
On no meds

For years I have had jaw spasms when speaking. The movement is a quick open movement. It makes my speech sound like I am stuttering or yelling if it is a big jerk. It is worse when I am stressed, slept poorly or after a day of drinking. I have been trying to treat with TMJ specialists for years and just yeasterday a new TMJ doctor I saw thinks it is not TMJ at all but Oromandibular Dystonia. Makes sense since all the TMJ treatments I have tried have done nothing. I am just starting to research this condition and found Homeopathy may be a possible path.

This is what I have tried in the past:

Saw a TMJ specialist found nothing wrong with the joint)
Saw a physical therapist
Had a $175 NTI appliance made to use at night
Went to a dental specialist and bought a custom anterior deprogrammer that was $600! Stopped wearing it recently because it seemed to make the problem worse.
Took sleep apnea test, oxygen levels were ok
Tried essential oils directly on muscles, all different blends
Tried messages
Tried Magnesium supplements
Tried a microwavable jaw warm compress
Bought a TENS unit, researched and found 220us at 10hz was best for jaw muscles
Tried sleeping with no pillow, a rolled-up towel under my neck, tried multiple different pillows
I am now seeing a Craniosacral Therapy specialist
I am very conscious to not clench my jaw, I think about it all the time and make an effort to keep my jaw loose. I have tried keeping my tongue gently on the roof of my mouth at all times.

Thanks for any help! I am at the end of my rope both emotionally and financially trying to deal with this. I feel embarassed to speak at work.

This is just a forum. Assume posts are not from medical professionals.
Please take the following remedies twice a day for 10 days and report back...
Staphysagria 30
Belladonna 30
Mag Phos 30
Calcarea Fluorica 30

One dose means 2 pills or drops each of all 4 remedies at a time.

Thank you very much for the reply. I just want to clarify slightly:

My Dystonia is not a constant movement like most appear to be, I can control my jaw muscles willingly. However, when I speak I sometimes get violent jerks and spasms of the jaw muscles. This happens maybe once every couple sentances worth of speaking.

I wanted to clarify because it seems like a lot of medication and it would be pretty pricey. At two pills of the 4 medications twice a day that would be about $60 USD...just want to be sure my symptoms are being understood as clear as possible.

You may take only one pill instead of 2.

160 pellets should cost 9 dollar
which should last 80 days
per day cost is 9.00/80 9 80 0.1125

36 dollar should last 80 days.

Please don't take the remedies continuously. Do report after 10 days.

So sorry for the delay, I found an ongoing thread about Dystonia so I posted there thinking it was perfectly related. I was advised to use Veratrum 6C, I tried it and have not noticed much difference, it has been a week. I am coming back to this thread because of great things I have heard about you. I'm sorry, I am new to Homeopathy medications and didn't know where to turn. One medicine seemed so much easier and cheaper than 4. I am wanting to give yours a shot though.

In reading I learned to take sublingually +/- 15min from food or drink, do you agree?

Also, as I mentioned, my dystonia (or what doctors think I have) is a very quick jerky spasms of the lower jaw. It is worse when I am thinking hard or trying to explain things. If I am tired it is worse and after a night or drinking it is extremely bad. Sometimes I can speak fine, I would say on the average day I have about 20-30 "jerks" depending on how much I speak. Just want to be sure you still recommend those medications prior to ordering.

Thank you!

Hello, I am on my 8th day. I am taking 1 pill of each 3 times a day under the tongue with no food or water +/- 15 minutes from taking the medication. I have not noticed any difference in my lower jaw spasms when speaking so far.

Hi, I am 10 days in now, should I continue?

How sure are you that the other 3 will help?

Homeopaths are not omnipotent. It is only about the possibility. It is also possible that no remedy will ever work for you.

Myself R K Agarwal/M71. I have also been suffering with Oromandibular Dystonia since 1989. My condition also was quite similar to the problem presently stated. I have tried variety of treatments but nothing worked out. Medicine, ENT, Dentistry, Neurologist, Neurosurgen.
Neurosurgen/Psychiatrist , at Munich, based on my complete history and carrying out all tests to rule out any organic cause, opined that it is due to stress and only Hipnotherapy can help.
Medicine Pacitane ( Trihexyphenidyl ) when taken at 2 to 2.5 mg tablets did help wonderfully relieving the problem but the kind of side effects making the mouth Dry impossible to Handle and hence could not continue.
Studying Homoeopathy, I found Causticum most relevant but it did not help. I have over a period of time, learnt to live with the problem.
Most important symptom, important in Homoeopathy, for my case is " Thinking of the problem aggravates the problem. What is suitable remedy for it.
